Scott über-praised the cats medical staff as to being exceptional in players recovery and preparation. I wonder what it is specifically that makes that so where other teams aren't as good. One can only assume they are just a smart club. I know Scott Murphy is really good at strength and recovery and body management etc, knowing how to relax and heal and so forth...but even so, surely other clubs would be in the know as to how to get players in the peak physical and mental state.

There is also the psychology of living in a relaxed area like Geelong near the water away from the vacuum of Melbourne.

I am wondering if the problems really do come down to getting the list right. Just recruit good, strong footy players.

Rutten is highly praised at the Tigers, yet him and Caracella couldn't get our team up and performing well.

I really do think it's culture probems, and Dodoro and our list problems that are the core issue here. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a new coach and you don't see all that much different on the field for quite a while.

Yep no feel good stories this year to compensate for our absence. Don't love the Cats but either Swans or Collingwood winning sucks bigtime. No consolation that either would objectively be admirable winners.

The only thing that's interesting me is that players like Dangerfield deserve to have won a premiership, or that it would be great for Buddy to finish with one. That's at the level of individuals though. The teams themselves I do not care about at all. If the Daicos brothers earn premiership medals out of this I will spew in my mouth and remember Cale Hooker.

I was 9 years old and lived 5 min drive from VFL park at the time. My aunty said that was the best thing of the day. Hearing the call for the bus drivers at half time.

Also, re Daniher. What has happened to the man? Obviously the kicking for goal was always an issue and he could do the occasional brain fade mixed in with moments of magic, but one thing was for sure if it was a big game and we were down he'd step up. At Brisbane he's just not that guy. Is it a fact of him giving even less of a shit about footy these days or is it a post injury reality?

Obviously the kicking for goal was always an issue and he could do the occasional brain fade mixed in with moments of magic, but one thing was for sure if it was a big game and we were down he'd step up. At Brisbane he's just not that guy. Is it a fact of him giving even less of a s**t about footy these days or is it a post injury reality?

If I was to guess; he was never a guy who relied on more than immense talent. Injury has meant he’s less physically exceptional than he once was, and he doesn’t have the work ethic to compensate for it.

He was in career best form before he hurt his shoulder earlier in the year. He has struggled to clunk his marks since. I'm guessing but I suspect his shoulder needs surgery and this has hampered him.
