Lol, who loses a final by 10+ goals
Oh
He will never be what he could have been as his groin injury has to be managed. Good player but just not the super star he could have been.
Yep no feel good stories this year to compensate for our absence. Don't love the Cats but either Swans or Collingwood winning sucks bigtime. No consolation that either would objectively be admirable winners. So we're down to two teams I hate and one that I'm sick of. Great.
on his 2014-17 trajectory, he's the most valuable player in the comp by now. agree its gone wrong, i think a lot of the blame is worsfold and our management. can we not look fondly on his good years for us?Yeah, he's ok. Capable of brilliance, but just average overall. Wasn't as big a loss for us as I feared at the time. 28 now, should be tearing the comp apart.
curious what you actually mean by this. geelong kept it tight, crushed brisbane's hopes and then ripped them when they had freedom.A procession for Geelong would not be a good thing. This game feels to me like a bit of old overly conservative Geelong being made to look good by a poor opponent.

Can confirm, was there. Top of the sir Kenneth Luke stand. Perfect view of the collingwood “army” leaving @ halftime.Cats are doing it that easy, thought I would check to see how far off the biggest winning margin for a Prelim.
Still about 10 goals off, so no chance of catching up to the mighty Bombers 133 pt drubbing of Collingwood in '84.
Ahhh, the good old days!
fair. geelong's last GF wasn't lost due to a poor start, only thing i'd say.The game had no real pressure.
Cats have a habit of starting poorly.
They should win the GF in a canter but they can fall asleep and lack intensity.
28.6, we kicked that day. An apt indication of the amount of pressure Collingwood were putting on us.Can confirm, was there. Top of the sir Kenneth Luke stand. Perfect view of the collingwood “army” leaving @ halftime.

yeah i don't think this is the same team. The start of their second half was reminiscent of the 2005 Champions League final.
Took to the field in a coma to start the second half.
Could barely miss, the next week though !!28.6, we kicked that day. An apt indication of the amount of pressure Collingwood were putting on us.
We had one more scoring shot in the GF yet our score was 69 points lower.Could barely miss, the next week though !!
But that last qtr was sublime! Went to '83 as a 14 y/o ☹, missed out in '84, but even though I wasn't there in person, it was the greatest moment as a Bombers fan. Can't tell you how many times I've watched that replay. They say you always remember your first time...well, I remember this game more than that!We had one more scoring shot in the GF yet our score was 69 points lower.

Robinson and Dank taught them the ways and they’ve never looked back.Danger basically cannot get through an interview without shouting our Geelong’s strength and conditioning guys this year.
I think the fact that they somehow just keep everyone shredded, fighting fit and recovering at superhuman speed is not talked about nearly enough.
To be honest it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they somehow got Holmes up for next week, such is their record.
That's not really an accurate data sample. It would have been more accurate to use the club's record instead. Players can miss finals due to injury, the club can't.Joel Selwood: 16 season, 40 finals
Cale Hooker: 13 seasons, 3 finals
I know Essendon like to buck conventional norms but even we would find it difficult to play 37 finals in three seasons. That's not really an accurate data sample. It would have been more accurate to use the club's record instead. Players can miss finals due to injury, the club can't.
Hooker (Essendon) is missing 3 seasons on Selwood (Geelong), how do I know that in those 3 missing years, Essendon didn't compete in 37 finals to even the count?
Oh Doss, I'm a nuffie, but I'm not a Facebook nuffie!I know Essendon like to buck conventional norms but even we would find it difficult to play 37 finals in three seasons.
Selwood's never missed a final in his entire time at Geelong, which is insane in itself.
Essendon played in six finals while Hooker was at the club; he only played in the 2009, 2014 and 2019 finals though.
Wasn't selected in 2011 or 2021, and was injured in 2017.
