Hi Bombers - didn't want to start a thread - but trying to get some help.

I am coming across to the Essendon v Sydney game in a couple of weeks. Trying to work out which sections are consiudered "General Admission" . My guess is it changes for each game based on demand - but nowhere can i find it online (ticket companies are useless).
Marvel all of level 3 except the front of the wings

MCG all of level 4 and one or two bays behind opposition goal on level 1

Same every week

Hodge adding some badly needed sobriety to the De Goey discussion.

As things stand he hasn't done a thing wrong. He's doing in Bali what every other player is doing in Australia.

Dumb by Collingwood to let him go. It was daring this to happen. I'm open to the idea they gave De Goey the rope to hang himself with when it comes to negotiating the next contract.

De Goey is proving himself not worth the hassle for >$800k a year because, despite not having done anything wrong, he is too dumb to not go to Bali and then have his behaviour documented.

But there's no reason for outrage, is there? Funny how even before the girl publicly supported De Geoy, she was robbed of any agency despite it being very clear she was getting on well with De Goey.

I actually agree with his statement, too. Go and watch the South Park episode on Britney Spears. There is something ritualistic about the reaction to this stuff.

storm in a teacup and I like that JDG held a lens up to it in his response.

That said, I also believe that for a young side like the Pies, I'd be cutting ties.
Yes he's done nothing wrong, but there is a question Collingwood need to ask - is he the player to help lead their next young crop? or do you cash in.

He's guilty of being as dumb as a post. As is his manager. Collingwood have saved themselves a few hundred grand on his contract offer though.

Why in JDG's position, knowing you're an absolute liability when drinking, after multiple previous incidents, you'd got to Bali midyear is beyond me. Why as a friend, family, or manager you'd let him go, is beyond me.

If he had no history, then sure, people would chalk it up as him being a bit of a drunk dickhead, but you can't ignore his history.

It brings unnecessary attention to the club. They're a young group that are % out of the 8. Their footy dept i'd say would also have better things to do than deal with the fallout of his stupidity. He has form and that's the issue.

It's more of an image/reputation problem and possibly code of conduct or policy breach or whatever. "Bringing the game into disrepute". Something something community expectations.

The players do a lot of training when they come into the system about all of this sort of stuff. If the AFL didn't care about these behaviours and didn't have any intention of penalising those involved, they wouldn't bother with the training.

I think the core issue for the AFL is actually with the photos being published online, in much the same way as lots of people have disclaimers on their social media that their views are personal and don't represent their employer, the whole Israel Folau thing, and the fact Bailey Smith only got a strike and a suspension for taking illicit drugs in the off-season (in his own time, and not on club premises or with club resources) was because the photos were published.

Same sort of problem here, though I don't know if there's a specific policy, other than possibly in the aforementioned code of conduct or "bringing the game into disrepute" catch-all clause. I don't think he'd be suspended by the AFL - the winds aren't blowing that way and they'd have to have some sort of policy/procedure basis for it.

If drugs were involved there'd be a hell of a lot more trouble though, given it was in Indonesia.

Last I heard he doesn't have a manager. Isn't his old man (a firefighter) the one who represented him last time and tried to say other clubs were interested when they weren't and it all blew up and embarrassed them all?

exactly right, but also feel that's stiff on De Goey.

brother in law I think I heard....as much as I try to avoid, having a passionate pies/JDG supporter mother meant it was topic of the day when I visited yesterday :)

Even if the girl herself doesnt care what kind of bloke wants to pull down a girl's top in public? As a one off you could maybe pass it off as a harmless drunken act of stupidity, but with his history its speaks volumes of what kind of person he is. Would not want him anywhere near our club.

Hodge or Whately said this morning his manager is a 'family friend' & his previous manager was given the flick because some hard thruths werent well received. So it sounds like he has simply surrounded himself with enablers & that rarely ends well.

He seems to be on a determined path of self-sabotage. Hopefully Collingwood doesn't let him take their club down with him - they have enough problems lately as it is.

Lol
Collingwood withdrew a contract offer for Jordan De Goey on the weekend in light of his embarrassing Bali nightclub video incident.

The club had tabled an offer for De Goey of a new deal for two years with a trigger for a further two years on about $800,000 a year.

The withdrawal of the contract offer does not indicate that they have made a decision not to re-sign the player. The club could yet return to negotiations with a revised offer, or they could decide not to make him a new offer.

Can see it now, JDG and West Coast in the PSD.

Perfect cultural fit. He gets away with doing what he wants, leads them to a flag in 5 and a full blown implosion in 6.

I refuse to click or interact with any media posts about what players do in their own time. It only feeds the media validating going after stories like that. I know I’m only one person but I just don’t want to participate in scummy reporting.

His brother in law is his manager now. I’d be shocked if coll let him go, renegotiate the contract for sure, majority of their fans love him, they’d be very pissed off . If he was bottom of their list he would’ve been long gone.

How much is too much to fine someone for not doing something expressly illegal but just being an absolute raging dumb shit? 100k?

The topper was him appropriating the #ENOUGHISENOUGH hashtag which has been very widely used in support of ending gendered violence.

I’m going to be very blunt here and say if he doesn’t like the negative attention and if it is truly impacting him in such a negative way he knows where the door is and he’ll never have another article written about him again.

Maybe the wrong place to post, cause it's about Essendon, but its more about the expansion of the Adelaide Football Club.

Call the season now!!! Good chance we play one of Adelaide's teams in the finals, but I think we can take them.

Credit goes to the home of Football, Ch 7 in Perf.😂
