my stepdad got tix, row a level 1.

think that last 5 grand finals he's been to (2021, 2022, 2018 and 2010 draw and replay) have all been like level 3-4.

insane tickets, let's hope the pies go down

(e: for reference he's a pies fan but loves football. in 2018 he went with a friend of mine who's a west coast fan and was so pissed off he walked from the MCG to camberwell)

sensible
i don't like year on year compensation, and this should be it now.

but they've kept the 1st rd nicely preserved.
i think it’s fairly reasonable, but i think the inclusion of extra rookie spots is a good move, given the vfl performance yesterday of mannagh, he very well may end up on their list (as a rookie)

I know very little about any club other than Essendon, but haven't North already been stockpiling high draft picks for the past 3 or 4 years?

I swear they're going to have a starting midfield of top 5 picks at this rate.

If anything, it makes me jealous considering Essendon can't even bottom out properly.

Yeah, they’ve had an absolute glut of high picks. They’ve also burnt a few too

All they’re getting is more kids. They seem pretty optimistic but again, they’re going to be terrible next year - they already have no experience and and they’re losing Cunnington, Ziebell, McKay and Goldstein. There’s bottoming out… and then there’s this.

The problem for them is it means they’re terrible for even longer, and clubs will be coming hard for any talent they do have.

they've had some high draft picks (jhf, wardlaw, sheezel for example) but jhf was a sook & was negatively impacting club culture (from what i've been told so they booted him after a season on the list) but i hope they're able to actually do something positive with it

got picks to trade for Logue and Tucker last year.
Wasn't really anything to write home about.

If you look at it;
'17 - LDU
'18 - polec/pittard in for 11 (Butters) but had thomas bid before that.
'19 - traded for future pick (Powell)...missed Serong.
'20 took Phillips
'21 took JHF
'22 traded JHF out for Wardlaw and a late 1st this year (moving 1 back to 2 for sheezel no biggie)

they've bottomed out, but outside Sheezel & LDU really haven't added much
Wardlaw looks a gun, but his hammies seem suspect.
Phillips has had a stalled start.

Polec and Pittard gone
JHF gone
Thomas may walk next year

i realistically think that while next year won't be easy, their future should be pretty good. we saw that wardlaw and sheezel were both very excellent first year players (and god wouldn't we want wardlaw in our midfield) and having nick larky as the key forward provides a lot of pretty good opportunities for them to actually be competitive (lol). their only problem is that their defense is kind of shit, logue is serviceable (at least from my perspective) but he's out with an ACL til like the middle of next year.

if wardlaw and ldu get consistent match time together i wouldn't be shocked if their midfield starts to become very, very competitive.

much to think about, and i wonder if they're able to use those promised picks next year as trade capital now

i dont see how they get out of bottom 2.

Outside Larkey, LDU & Sheezel, it's a list of battlers and kids (not a lot of great ones either)
Massive chance they take our finals drought record off us....once we stop the clock :S

oh don't get me wrong i think they'll be shit, but i think it'll be a worrisome game or two ahead for us
