Disagree. Treacy should have taken the mark and it’s game over. Ball faintly brushed Aish, if the umps on the wrong side they’d never pick it up

fun fact,

6 of Geelongs 10 first rounders were not drafted them. Add in the freebies they've fluked (Blicavs, Stewart and of course Hawkins who was rated top 5 - 10 for a third rounder) and its easy to see why they remain competitive

We do it to (get first rounders in from the recycle bin), Geelong just bring in proven AFL players unlike us

Kelly was a great pick that they cashed in for two first round picks too.

They don't seem to lose too many good players to other clubs either. Clark is the only good one that I can remember leaving over the last 10 or 15 years (apart from Kelly who they extracted full value for). Maybe Christensen. None really jump out.

was more thinking the other way, they seem to continually bring in quality first round talent

I don't know what was worse, it appeared the non controlling umpire called touch or the dissent and a nail in the coffin free kick was given

kudos to both sides, was a decent match
Don't abuse umpires.

The Cats and Sydney are also pretty good at developing players picked up at the back end of the draft which helps a great deal

It's good to see Geelong's new young players coming through. They've been through a tough time and it's nice that they have some young stars to watch.

I wonder what that's like
Most of them patiently playing VFL while the older blokes won a flag two years ago. They have the elite system and environment Brad is looking for.

And here we are screaming for Caddy and Tsatas to be rushed into the seniors
It's a bit more nuanced than that. They aren't playing the kids for the sake of it and they aren't saying to them they won't get a look in until they've done two seasons of VFL; when they're playing at a suitable standard and a position is available they'll get selected.

In the meantime they're in one of the best development programs in the AFL.
