These are the most compelling arguments for mine. WB to smash Collingwood in the GF? I like it
A Collingwood premiership
Cons:
- I can't stand Mick Malthouse - it would be enjoyable to watch him dab at his tears again with a hanky if they lose and berate the journos after the match.
- I can't stand Eddie McGuire - he already thinks he is the King of Melbourne. For as long as Eddie is the Magpie president, I would like to see Collingwood fall agonisingly short.
- I can't stand Alan Didak - brilliant footballer - but he disrespects his opponents - he is a piece of shyte
- I don't begrudge their fans success, but they would be insufferable if they were to win the flag. They are already insufferable and it's still only August!
A Western Bulldogs premiership
Pros:
- See my comments regarding the Saints fans. I'd be happy for all the Bulldog true believers, who've been going to the footy for years, decades even, and have never seen their team even play in a Grand Final, let alone win one. There would be tears of joy, just like when the Swans won in 2005.
- David Smorgon has been a tremendous president who has given so much of his time and money to ensure the Western Bulldogs have remained viable in the AFL. If the Dogs could win the flag, he'd feel as proud as Hawthorn's Ian Dicker after the 2008 Grand Final
- Rodney Eade has been a great coach for a long time and probably deserves to win a Jock McHale medal
- I like all the stalwart Bulldogs players - they seem like a good bunch of blokes
- They've played some great football for the past 3 or 4 years, very pleasing on the eye - they've come very close in the previous two seasons
