So we happened to play North when they had their s**t together.

* that's annoying.

Also should we expect to see Fagan take leave soon too?

Unlikely, North can't go any worse if Clarko takes a break. Brisbane are flying so at least on field Fagan will be feeling good and take his mind off the off field stuff.

Tassie new team falling apart already.
Too much infighting.
Political football etc
Makes you wonder what the Freo licence is worth, in a two team town, with a huge stadium.
Got to be worth $50 mill, towards $100 mill

Eagles are going to have to set new levels in shitness to get Harley Reid now…

pictures Simmo outside the change rooms with a cricket bat

but harley would be so disappointed to not come west...

Indigenous Round coming up. Clarkson wasn’t going to be coaching.

How is this North’s fault? Hawthorn are an absolute joke and their dynasty/legacy is ****ed now. All for betting on Sam Mitchell who’s not even a great coach.

North should’ve just sacked Clarkson as soon as the allegations were made. Wipe themselves clean. Instead got hypnotised by the ‘messiah’ and miracle worker possibility with him.

Thing is.
I feel that the original report wasn’t about laying blame or seeking damages from anyone. Just “what did we do wrong, how do we be better.”

If those involved had have apologised accepted their part, and made commitments to improve, there never would have been another investigation.

By refusing to accept even a skerrick of culpability , they’ve made the whole thing worse for everyone involved.

Sometimes it’s better to say, I’m sorry, I didn’t know that’s how you felt. How I can improve.

The issue since is that the people primarily smeared by a report have requested direct accusations against them with which to counter directly, not to be interviewed seeking something to dig further into - and the people making the accusations didn't want to put their name to it.

I feel the AFL would be quite happy to sacrifice two old guys for the points it would give this particular year and neither Fagan or Clarkson are interested in providing evidence against themselves - and aren't compelled to play along with that.

Wether they feel they did anything wrong or not, the point is that the perception from those aggrieved is they did.

A persons perception is their reality, this whole thing is emotional, tied in with historical trauma.

It’s not for them to say if what they said or did was offensive, if the people affected are the ones saying it, accept that you may have misjudged the situation.

Anyway, they’ve made a rod for their own backs now, hopefully we can close this up soon.

Munger says EBITDA is rubbish... and in some ways I agree. However, it is a standard way of valuing a business. Basically profit plus stock and assets.

Value would greatly depend on the training facility and how that is 'owned'.

If you didn't need to pay WAFC yearly, profit could be seen as $3m per year (Profit seems to hover between 1.5 - 2m).

If it was possible to own the ticketing system and get a cut there and a few other things you may be bale to push that to $7-8m but it isn't as easy here as in the states or Europe. The scum up the road were hiting the $6-7m mark regularly, although that has dropped last season.

$3m per year - x7 multiple (which is tech territory) = $21m*

*I imagine there would need to be an ongoing commitment to WAFC for grass roots, which has to cut the multiple for valuation.

Then there is the facility to consider - how long is the lease? how discounted is it? how that would be transferred etc. Difficult with gov and local gov money involved. Snuffaluphagus or BanjoRules could have a play with value on the venue.

$40-50m for our team and $100-120m for the scumbags up the road.

Talk about crazy precedence.

How would that work long term? Apply that principle to anything in life? An impossibility.

Talk about a dangerous line of thought. Play that out in other areas of life.

I understand the sentiment but disagree when it is someones reputation and livelihood being trashed. It is easy to say when it is happening to others, would you want that applied to someone in your family if they were 100% certain they were innocent?

Innocent until PROVEN guilty is foundational to a democratic society. It is wrong when that is not applied to every individual not matter class, race, sex or situation. Abhorrent even.

I have.

Managing diverse teams. You don’t always get it right. And you build a tighter bond by not being a stubborn jackals who can do no wrong.

There was nothing criminal being suggested.

Feelings were hurt.

Any time there is an accusation made - whether substantiated or not - reputations and livelihoods are imperilled. You can't avoid that.

There's a real "lily that festers" thing that goes on when white males in positions of power or fame are accused of something. Like their reputations and livelihoods are of more value.

I don't think you read what I wrote. Do you want to try again?

They would never be found guilty of anything because the AFL is gutless, but you just need to see Lance leaving and Cyril getting the **** out of there at the age of 28, and there is enough smoke around it to make up your own mind
