West coast have gotten away with their culture for years. It has all caught up with the club. The culling will begin this weekend, and players will start retiring, Nisbett probably will resign, Simpson is gone.

Players signed for 2-3 years that clearly are past their best and haven’t been invested in the club for years.
NicNat not playing for nearly a year is the epitome of the culture.

Enjoy it while it last. Not one bit sorry for that club given the crap and vitriol the media in this state have thrown at Fremantle. About time the vultures attack their own and implode

I reckon Nisbett will have to be dynamited out of his big chair. He’s the mob boss of WA football & to have survived through all their drug scandals & keep the iron grip on the WA media he has he must have a lot of dirt on a lot of people.

At this point they need to literally burn the club to the ground & start again & he needs to be the first to go if they’re going to get anywhere.

I don’t understand why Simpson doesn’t just walk. Surely his life is a living hell. He could just slip back over East. Disappear somewhere till next year and come back in a media job or assistant. Anything would be better than carrying this cross any further.

He probably will 😂

None of this is on Simpson. He has not assembled this shit list nor is he responsible for giving moronic deals to old perma-crocks. People saying he should be sacked are idiots.

Nisbett is the first of the dominoes that needs to fall but I get the feeling the only way he plans on leaving is in a wooden box.

He would lose a lot of $$, but still gets paid if they fire him?

Ever since he was given an extension on his contract he has sat in the coach's box with zero passion/animation and come out with lame excuses for the past two years. He doesn't have to prove anything "because we won a flag".

I really hope he stays, because I'm enjoying the ride.

I've only watched part of the second half of this massacre but one thing that stood out was the "couldn't care less attitude from their senior players". Yeo looked as if he wanted to at any club except this one and the other senior players - Gaff, Darling, Barrass, Shuey & Allan also looked totally disinterested.

Their situation is really dire as I don't think that they have any trade currency except perhaps Allan and it's going to take them a long, long time to draft enough quality to fix their dilemma. Probably best if they trade any high draft pick they get for numerous lower picks.
I think "brave" is now showing up for training. You would be doing Covid tests daily and hoping you could have an excuse not to show up.

One of the most disturbing things about the West coast situation is That they constantly talk about the cavalry arriving .
News flash!! your cavalry are mostly over the hill footballers past their prime.
If you asked most Eagles supporters before today they would have said that the side was far better than the side that lost to Adelaide.
They're so called first pick midfield are mainly players past their best which all played today!!
Sheed and Gaff are both slow lazy and tackle adverse.
Yeo is a very good player no doubt but he cannot be expected to carry the inside grunt work on his own as he is being asked to do with his injury history.
Kelly is a good player as well but performs better when he is not asked to be the main man .
Shuey is a quality player Who now needs to play a more inside role due to a drop in leg speed , And although not bad as an inside option provided a more damaging option on the outside with his classy disposal when at his peak.
A few more years in the wilderness is what they can expect in my opinion .

or that two draft picks, at the end of the year, are going to make them competitive. What about all the other clubs in the bottom 8 who have been 'developing their early draft picks', trading players etc? how do they topple them over, and then the top 8 sides?

I'm sure the rest of the AFL are going to LOVE it if WCEs end up with some kind of support (via extra draft picks etc) for arrogantly getting themselves into this situation

There is no reason what-so-ever that there should even be any contemplation for giving them a priority pick. They are in this mess because of their inability to see what everyone else could see 3 years ago. They wasted draft picks on complete spuds. The AFL should force them to make internal changes before giving them any assistance.

Mind you, I am of the opinion that the priority pick should not exist.

Same. Freo were given next to no assistance when they began.

At least their WAFL team didn't lose by 100 points today, so they can look forward to their 'developing kids' ;)

B: Duggan Barrass H Edwards
B: Foley Hurn Cole
C: Hunt Shuey Gaff
F: Culley Darling Waterman
F: Ryan Allen Cripps
R: Naitanui Kelly Yeo

Int: Petruccelle, Sheed, Ginbey, B Williams

That is what I could piece together as their "best" 22.

4 missing from their backline, 4 from the forward line and Naitanui.

Hurn: ageing player who has to keep playing because they haven't got anything else.
Edwards: Young and largely unproven.
Foley / Cole: flankers, should be one of the easiest positions to cover.

Waterman / Culley: that they are best 18 speaks more about how bad their list is rather than how good they are.
Ryan / Cripps: one is a front running player who disappears and the other is an ageing veteran.

Naitanui: should have retired 4 or 5 years ago.

no pp.
it’s only this year they’ve sucked, and they won a premiership 5 years ago.

forget nisbett, forget Simpson.

their first priority needs to be a new recruiting team.

anyone who can pick Chesser over Johnson should be fired out of a cannon into the sun.

couple that with guys like Foley and Xavier O’Neill and my wtf-ometer exploded

They aren’t as bad as their losses are suggesting, the players are giving no effort whatsoever. When they play us, they will put in effort and we’ll be lucky to win by 40 points again. It will be their grand final.
We saw last week how easy it is to lose by 70 points, only need to play 10% off your best and any team will beat you by that margin, in the swans game the WC players weren’t even trying to tackle or chase someone 3m ahead of them.
