Talk of a priority pick....well * them. They got themselves into this mess.
I think most people saw a cliff coming, but they did nothing about it, except offer their geriatrics longer contracts.
No sympathy for them at all.

They haven't been bad enough for long enough. End of next year would be the earliest and even then..... surely not?

Norf have been terrible for a while and only just got some PPs.

Thing is, if they get priority picks what are they going to do with them? North ended up with Logue and Tucker from theirs, and they had to open their cheque books VERY wide to make that happen. Now North have been excrement for a while now, but Logue and Tucker haven’t made them any better. At least Logue has his pile of money to keep him happy at night. But who would want to come to WC and spent at least the next 5 years of their career living at the bottom of a deep dark hole? How much money would they need to throw at such a player? And how much better would that player make them anyway?
I mean i say **** ‘em and any priority picks they might ask for , but i can’t see them making a difference to them anyway given where they’re at right now.

Went go get a pizza last night and overheard a kid coming back from footy talking about thrashing a hapless Southern Cross and even that scoreline was nowhere near as bad as the Coasters.
You in the EDFL Kram ?
Nukarni is my old team

The encouraging thing for them is that they play Saints next week...who play ultra defensive Rossball.

It probably wont be another shellacking.

I realise Simpson is just going to stay till they sack him so he gets his payout, but how badly does it hurt his legacy do you think? Yes a premiership coach but the longer he overseas pretty much the worst club in the history of the afl it overshadows the past.

At present, Simpson can’t even handle a herd of donkey’s.

More of a concern would be if he wanted to come back after a break and be head coach elsewhere it is hurting his prospects.

If Allen were to miss for whatever reason, them not scoring a goal would be decent value.

Still think the Saints do them by 10+ goals before the Lions double ton them again the following week.

or that two draft picks, at the end of the year, are going to make them competitive. What about all the other clubs in the bottom 8 who have been 'developing their early draft picks', trading players etc? how do they topple them over, and then the top 8 sides?
At least North and Hawthorn to an extent are poor due to young draft picks.
West coast have not even drafted a top 3 for one year and already this bad with 8 players over 30.
4 of those retire- conservative number, and have to replace that with what?

The pick 1 will be split up. The pain is still to come.

Fremantle were lucky in 2001 in trading for experienced/mature age players- 2003 finals in the end.

West coast need to do the same somehow.

If I was Ross, I’d be using the game to get some run back into the team. They looked shocking on Friday night.

And one things for sure, against the Eagles you can cheat in front of the ball

I could cut 20 players right now from their list and not even have a passing regret.

They are three to four draft periods away from even being competitive

Oh 100%.
Club should be ruthless, when even the experienced players on park, which plenty were yesterday, should be pushed for retirement or one year deals.
Shuey
Hurn
Gaff
NicNat
McGovern
Darling
Yeo

Should all be at least given retirement notice or trade bait. All are either injury prone or checked out.
Darling hasnt cared since COVID.

Gaff not being traded to North is a massive regret and the management knows it.
