We arent making finals with our percentage but I do think we win 3 of the last 4 and someone is going to finish 15th (might be us if we only win 2) with 10 wins which is absolutely ludicrous

I did the same as you but had us 13th even with belting the snot out of WC. Regardless, I'm positive someone is 15th with 10 wins and there's a decent chance that's us. Melbourne possibly getting stupidly lucky that a once in a generation ladder occurs in their benefit the year they get our future 1st and 2nd. At least the bids and FA compo are pushing it back somewhere like you said.

It means our 2nd and 3rd round picks fall 1 pick before WCs 2nd and 3rd, so we get to steal the WA players they have their eyes on. Not worth it though with all the pick swaps likely to happen during the trade/draft.

Percentage doesn’t matter as the 3 teams below us all have had a draw so we squeeze in by half a game…

If you could go back in time and lose a derby in 2000 that resulted in West Coast being pushed two positions back in the draft it would deny them 150 games from Judd, 250 from Kennedy, the original hipster in Masten and a wasted pick 20 on Tony Notte. Probably would have won more Derby's between 2001 and 2022 when Kennedy finally retired. This is all tongue in cheek really

You should expect the AFL to bump up the free agent compensation for McKay into band one (currently pick #3).

What's crazier, it's arguably better for us if that happens. McKay is leaving as a FA. That pushes our 2nd round pick back regardles, if he gets them band 1 it pushes Melbournes pick back as well...

Wouldn’t be surprised if they get rewarded though.

We will do well to win more than two from here and our percentage has us way behind.

If we finish 12th we will have done well from here.

Pick 10 to Melb + f2 gets us pick 8. Able to get Serong as well as Young and get two picks in before the Henry bid. Would've been nicer if we kept Acres or Henry but bloody good return for Chris Mayne who I remember being cooked that year.

To say it isn’t more then adequate, would be a lie.
Henry is coming along with those two. A bloody great draft. Know what’s even more exciting.. we also got the number 3 pick of that draft- Luke Jackson.
Was ridiculous and probably the early astute piece of business by Bell.
Then moulded into shit by getting third rounder for Acres.
