You don't think it's supposed to be a 50-50 ball? Seriously?

Why do you think the wafl binned it? Commonsense goes a long why here
The point of the bounce is to send the ball to its highest possible elevation. Ball ups don’t do this, and their predictability is a big part of the reason midfield congestion got so bad.

I don’t care what the WAFL does. It’s a third rate league

Would love too see buddy equally criticised for being a dirty grub as much as he is celebrated for being a gun. One of the dirtiest of the current times

Geelong score a total of one point from clearances against GC and lose.

GC near double the Cats centre clearances.

Geelong have to play the game from their defensive fifty.

They come up against a bull ruck in Witts and they get schooled.

We need to get better before we play GC or Miller and Rowell will cut us apart.

The thing that could make a difference this year is Hawkins starting to break down. I'm not sure the next time they have to do a complete Hawks or WC rebuild from the ground up but they are not the top 4 certainties everyone has them out to be.
I dont get to be right often so I'm going to bump myself for actually getting something right.

Hawkins is so underdone he hasnt left the butcher yet and last year was their mountain to climb. They might turn it around a bit but they arent in contention this year IMO

It shouldn't be too difficult to build a little thing that measures where your opponent was on the ladder prior to the round starting, then adapting a scoring system of inverse ladder position and totalling where your side's current position is relative to the rest of the competition based on where each team's opponents have been.

So for Freo, we've been beaten by two teams ahead of us, including the #1 side in the league right now.
We went into round 2 on 14 points against North Melbourne who were on 8 points.
Beaten, then into round three on 17(Stk)+14(Nth) = 31 points against the Eagles on 14(Nth)+9(GWS) = 23 points.

Next round we start 18(Stk)+12(Nth)+7(WC) = 37 points.

Average per week should be about 9 points per week for an even spread of teams, 9x3 is 27 so we are currently +37% difficulty.

Those should balance and settle into an average as more weeks pass, eventually showing which teams are batting above their average and which are beating up on weak sides to look good early.

There's not enough data yet.
