At the end of the day, if we miss finals, we have nobody to blame but ourselves. We've pretty much had finals, even top four served up to us on a silver platter, everything was in place for us to clean up and storm forward into September as one of if not THE form team in the competition, but at every stage, when the pressure was on, we let FIVE games slip from our grasp in the final quarter.
A game plan that doesn't stand up to pressure and is easily nullified by teams prepared to work harder.

We got Richmond and West Coast twice, and most of the games vs top 8 sides were at home. Not sure what else you want to ask for as a WA team
Probably the shitty travel schedule we copped was the biggest thing and the massive breaks between home games on 2 occasions.

But I don't think we can complain about the quality of opposition we have faced at all.

We played Brisbane at home, Carlton at home in Adelaide, Port away and home, Dogs home and away, Sydney home and away, cats home, GWS away.

Eleven games against current top eight. Five of which are at home.

1. Sydney (H&A)
2. Port (H&A)
3. GWS (A)
4. Geelong (H)
5. Brisbane (H)
7. Footscray (H&A)
8*. Carlton (Neutral)
9*. Hawthorn (A)

Let’s go down to 13
10. Essendon (A)
11. Collingwood (H)
12. Gold Coast (H)
13. Melbourne (H & Alice Springs)

Probably one of the biggest marshmallow draws we’ve ever had lol

Exactly, two home games that didn't involve double ups. 3 double ups.

Add in Essendon, who were in contention last night (A) and that's a pretty hard draw for a team that didn't play finals last year

Getting to play the bottom two sides a total of four times is certainly handy when the ladder is so tight. Almost like it was the point all along.

Carlton also got Tigers and North twice. As did Gold Coast.
Hawthorn finishing low last season always come into account for fixturing

Besides we’ve had Richmond twice ourselves. Only North once. Hardly complain.

Fremantle always have West Coast twice as well, given they finished last in 2023. What do we do? Get thrashed first game
