Looks like a KPD to me too

Omac will probably be off the list in a year so I guess it fills that gap

We have Murphy and Davies signed up til the same point (end of 26), I think Murphy is more likely to make it over Davies but I've gone cold on him compared to others. - think only one of them is on the list after 2026

I guess we can try him forward first and then move him to defense as we drop some of the KPD's off the list. (Unless he is too good as a fwd)

I’d almost go as far to say as I can’t see how McDonald is on our list in 2026 tbh. To me he’s probably a toss up between Delean at this stage for most obvious delisting (not counting retirees).

If Draper doesn’t go backwards and one of Davies or Murphy improves, even more so. Draper was already AFL standard this season and has big upside - the club would only be worried about a last resort depth option of the other two KPDs aren’t anywhere near ready or one of Pearce, Cox or Draper does a twelve month injury late in 2025.

If Jones makes a full recovery I can see the club persisting in 2026 as well - He was going pretty well IMO and was looking like a good future option as a depth KPF (mainly) or last resort ruck option. That probably allows us to try Nicholls back if we want.

I wonder how tall JL actually is? He is listed as 196cm, but Ollie Murphy (listed at 200cm) and Nicholls (listed at 197cm) both looked shorter than him when he has gone to their house to visit them after the draft. Camera angles can be deceiving, but something seems out of whack.

Id say Justin is wearing boots and kid probably just sandshoes, but that wouldn't explain all of it.

I reckon his listed height is just wrong. Probably grew a bit between 19 and 21/22.

I always thought JLo was 6’6” in the old measurements or 198cm

Just catching up with an interview he did on 6PR on Thursday Night. He's got a brother who moved over to WA a year or so ago and is working on a farm in Merredin.

Never trust heights posted by the club. They see them as IP.

There's another recent interview with the SANFL where they mentioned that Nicholls was still adding height and he said that he hoped he might crack 200cm.

With his pace and marking if he hit 200cms he’d have to be a great kpd option. Whether he can make it as a kpf is hard to say, but our kpf development at the moment seems really good.

He's symptomatic of how the club sees our list and how that is reflected in the draft.

Our list is pretty much ready to go, and we are primed for finals: that means trade out your better draft picks for players like Bolton and Jackson who immediately improve us.

Use your remaining draft picks on players who need some fermentation time in the WAFL tanks, but who also have some elite traits. Give them a couple of seasons and see what they can do.

Good list management.

Hopefully that fermentation in the WAFL tanks turns out a good brew. Tasting notes - went in green, the finished product came out well rounded, solid and reliable. Expected to keep well and be a top shelf product for many years. Best years 2027 to 2037. Enjoy.

.A snippet for Swinger

CHARLIE NICHOLLS (Central District/Faith Lutheran College) Key forward, 17, 197cm

“He’s a nice, developing key forward who can also play down back if required. Charlie is a good lead-up forward who is improving his contested marking every week. He’s a super easy person to coach, which was emphasised by the fact we asked him to focus on taking more contested marks (in Round 4 against West Adelaide) and he went and took six of them, which was great. He took 13 marks and had 22 disposals for the game while also kicking three goals, which was a terrific effort. He leads the comp in contested marks and has a super high work-rate, giving him the ability to get up and down the ground. There’s a bit of (Geelong star) Jeremy Cameron in the way he plays.’’ – Central Centre of Excellence and under-18s coach Kyle Jenner.
