It's no longer friends, family, flags.

From Don Pyke:
We undertook a refresh of our vision and values which saw us commit to the vision of “Progress” - incremental, continuous, sustained, hard-fought progress. That’s our vision; plain and simple. We must keep moving forwards.

Club Statement 1: Baker spoken to by police.
Club Statement 2: Reubs charged with public peepee and not providing details.

Progress. Incremental. Continuous. Sustained. Hard fought.

Can't wait for statement #3.

Ending with Harley leaves as club in shambles.

Not quite. If he was ripped off his ****, attacked a cab and forged a valium prescription while running from the choppers, that would be a standard off-season effort.

This is just poor event planning.
Below par,
Disappointing
WC can and have been elite in this arena
Disappointing
Cousins and Kerr reportedly, understandably, very disappointed

West Coast were hoping this wouldn't get out. Now they are trying to identify the source of the leak.
Ginbey's penis according to the release (sorry couldn't resist overtly stating your more subtle allusion). What flavourful Gatorade it was has yet to be established.

The least he could’ve done is given Harley’s details. Which reminds me of Brad Hill giving Sonny’s name when the cops charged him for ignoring a move on notice.

With the complete lack of public toilets around (especially open at night) where the hell do they expect people to urinate?
Plenty of toilets at Wildlands, he just probably couldn't hold it

Not the first bloke to duck out the back of a festival for a leak though and certainly won't be the last

As far as cost of living expenses go I consider a subscription to Pay TV a luxury indulgence. Besides, I get enough sport for free and personally I have a tipping point of about 2.5 games of AFL every weekend. After that I feel like I should be doing something else.

The only minor issue would be if there's some effect on the deal that is in place in WA that allows AFL games on Pay TV to be broadcast free to air via Channel 7 for the local teams.

Newscorp does maintain a small interest of 6% in DAZN as well as a seat on the board of directors.

This essay "The Billionaire's Playlist" in the New Yorker is almost 11 years old but I found it an interesting read into the background of this Leonid Valentinovich Blavatnik fellow back when he was making his first investments in the music biz.

The proxy 12fl ladder link should give a free read (although my internet is mucking about a bit and sometimes it comes up on the page and sometimes it's says bad gateway)

Don't know how many games we have, but it is close to the point if you don't have Kayo, you don't watch us.

If they crack down on people sharing subscriptions, I am stuffed. Currently I have it with a friend who gets his cheap due to being on Telstra.

From Fox Sports:

With the release of 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership fixture, it has officially been confirmed that Fox Footy – available on Kayo Sports and Foxtel – will be the ONLY place to watch AFL exclusively live on Saturday’s nationally for the first eight rounds of the home and away season (nine weeks, inclusive of Opening Round).

In localised markets such as Victoria, Fox Footy’s exclusively live coverage on Saturdays will extend for the entirety of the home and away season – ushering in a new era as part of the landmark AFL rights deal – with bespoke commentary, graphics and 4K available for every game – for the first time on both Kayo Sports and Foxtel.

As long as they improve the product.
Lags & goes missing, usually during Freo games
& I have zero issues with other streaming services

I have a non 4K tv and found setting the video resolution to Up to HD fixed the majority of my lag issues with Kayo on TV. Im guessing when set to 4k it continually trys to see if it can output 4k.

You can adjust the video resolution through Settings:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Quality Control.
  3. Select Up to 4K.
If you’d prefer to keep streaming in HD or SD, you can choose Up to HD or SD Only.

The split up for that Saturday arrangement with FOX exclusivity was always due to begin in 2025 when the new broadcast deal began.

I was more wondering about the deal in WA, whatever it is, between Channel 7 & Fox where 7 broadcast the games live for West Coast and Fremantle, even though Fox has the coverage. When you see those games on 7, whether it's WC or Fremantle, or a derby they often don't have any pre-match lead up from the Fox team and have some Channel 7 commentators talking about the game, only crossing live to the Fox coverage at the bounce. We already have some 3 hour delayed telecast games into WA when we play interstate that are Fox games.

It doesn't bother me much. I'm from the era when every game was played on a Saturday, and then even when they began VFL/AFL broadcasts they would delay Friday nights in Perth for an 8:30pm start whatever teams were playing. Other than that you get the pre-season game. Woo-ee-oo. I find a lot of the FOX games, particularly the ones in Sydney don't make the effort with the camera set ups and the commentators are usually broadcasting from interstate with one local boundary rider. I mostly turn the sound of the commentators down anyway. If you ever want a laugh at how incoherent most sports commentators are, put the teletext subtitles option on when the football is being called.

There were some general ads on free to air TV stations during 2024 about saving sport for free to air - how much of that was about AFL, I don't know.

I'm too old fashioned and stubborn. i will absolutely not, never pay to watch the simple things that should be free - starting with sport. Just cant bring myself to do it. Id rather go without. whether it's our club, the scorchers or the Australian cricket team, we just dont watch it in our house if it's not on free to air. We bleed purple, but wont watch the games if they're not on for free, instead we go outside and kick the footy, roll the arm over in the back yard or go fishing!

Have you recovered from milk no longer being delivered in bottles, money left under the door mat? No longer being able to buy a sticky bun straight out of the back of the baker's horse and cart?
