Ross Lyon football:
  1. dominate a half of football,
  2. fatigue the players,
  3. don't put the opposition away,
  4. let them back in
  5. give supporters a heart attack with a narrow win/loss.
How many times did we see it at Freo.
Haha we were "putting the cue in the rack" remember????

Can’t see them getting anymore priority picks. The only think I can see is something similar to GC and Carlton at one point where they got priority access to state league players that had previously nominated for draft and missed out.

Part of their last package was a couple of draft picks for 2024 ND which they traded out which one was concessional on them sucking again.

The AFL will understand that the young draftees will need time to come good.

West Coast on the other hand may put their dukes out for something.

The bolded is at complete odds with priority picks in the first place.

If you're worried about a team being too ****, why would more draftees help? The system is moronic.

It’s going to be an interesting year watching Henry if Ross continues to play him as a half forward.
Currently he’s enjoying the honeymoon period from media and supporters but that might turn pretty quick once they realise he can barely kick 40 metres, is not strong in the contest, and is prone to some poor decision making.
The guy is not a natural forward, and I am surprised Ross (or fans and media) don’t know that.

Don’t want to death ride anyone but Henry has taken 1 mark on 50 and turned the ball over 3 or 4 times since I have been watching. The most hilarious comment coming from Jack Riewoldt when Henry was 50 out and musing why he didn’t shoot for goal. I swear he has never watched him play.
I mentioned on the main board that Henry was not particularly big or quick and some idiot sarcastically quipped ‘so now he’s shrunk and gotten slower since he left Freo?’
There seems to be a widely held view that he’s a much better, faster, and more imposing player than he actually is.

No argument from me. So I guess my point is a little mute. I should say I hope on this occasion they sit down and realise all the draft gifts given will need sometime to come good and not a gift that keeps giving.

I agree the system sucks balls. Also how they come to the decision they do is unknown. GC were given so many concessions they just traded them out like an oversupply of lollies. Sure we trade pick 11 gift for pick 27 so we can select Jeremy Sharp.

The problem that impacts these clubs and also GWS at times is they end up with so many top end draft selections that they can’t sign them all up and if they do they end up paying way too much like Bowen and Brodie for example. If they end up giving more top end draft picks it will go past tipping point surely.

Saints going with the "good bloke" defense it seems. Apparently it was out of character and as we know, concussion are less severe when the bloke hasn't done it much before.
Nah he’s in a world of trouble. Precedence suggests 4-5 weeks. Was more contact with shoulder but concussion experts only recently have been saying the whiplash action of the neck and head causes the brain to rattle within the skull. Apparently Simpkin had two concussions last year.

They will stamp down on this real hard. It looks terrible.

Rosco and lawyers can smoke all the good stuff they want and dance around singing how good a bloke he is etc. but he is stuffed.

What are the precendents for that kind of hit? It was extremely late, high contact, severe impact, both feet off the ground, and the bloke he hit had to come off. I know there’s probably been similar ones in recent times but I can’t think of one that bad off the top of my head.

I just mean what happened last week with SPP. I agree with others it is far far worse. Min would 4-5 but I’d expect at least 6 weeks.

I remember that Dean Solomon elbow to Cam Ling. That was awful. From memory 6 weeks.

Different times and different action but Webster left the ground and ironed him out. Not a good look for the mums thinking about enrolling their boys into another season of Aussie Rules.

My post was tongue in cheek. He'll get more than 4 for sure.

I think a new one is about to be set
