wasn’t that the cap that we didn’t actually breach but the AFL thought we didn’t have enough fat in it thus believing we would likely exceed it ?
So therefore smacked us for an event that had not occurred but might.

Pretty sure we did breach it due to injury payments. Whether penalty was excessive or not is something separate.

Yes that is correct, it was a just in case that didn't happen. IIRC we would have been able to fit him into our cap as it turned out. The AFl were just being cautious. Felt there wasn't enough fat.

Darcy Tucker fits into the group 75% of AFL listed players are in , Not great, not terrible.
I always appreciated his honest efforts at Freo.
Can’t begrudge him going back to Victoria because he was unlikely to get a game at Fremantle again. Even less chance now.
