Melbourne are going exceptionally well atm, played and defeated the no 1 and no 3 teams at neutral venues two weeks in a row. Very deserving of Premiership favorites for their season so far.

Made the Bulldogs look poor and didn't have too much trouble easing away from Brissy after half time. And they are great to watch with plenty of established players, new talent and their 2 - 5 year players all seeming to mature into solid to very good players too. Pleased for them but disappointed to know this level of footy seems to be pie in the sky stuff for FFC.

And thanks Melbourne for sticking it up Brissy for me too.

The only way NicNat could be underrated is if he's actually the greatest sportsman the planet has ever produced.

Even then the WA media hype him up somewhere close to that anyway.

• Core players are never injured(Langdon injured tonight though)
• Pickett.
• May and Lever chemistry
• ? Can’t think of anything else

After watching Gawn last night, NicNat is not even in the same stratosphere.

I feel it's starting to rival the umpiring of htb in making this game hard to take seriously.

Yep, this is becoming an absolute joke. Unless the guy getting pushed in the back gets whiplash it's suddenly fair play to blatantly push another player in the back.

Port don't score probably 4 or 5 goals last week if we were given push in the back free-kicks that we should have got. Being a defender in a one on one contest these days would absolutely suck. Forwards can do whatever they want whereas the defender can't do anything.

AFL wants goals (adds) and they don’t really care how they come

We have just been very slow on the uptick ( as we always are ) , our fwds should be giving 5-10 free kicks away a week inside 50 and cashing in on all the opportunities every other time it comes in

Port wasn’t even that bad compared too the Swans the week before

There was an incident on the wing, last week. Dixon was nudged in a marking contest and the commentators were laughing as he got a free kick. There had been pushing all day, with Dixon being the main culprit.

I was peeved off for years, that the “handballing over your head”, was not called as a throw. After giving up on that issue, I now see that the umps have given up on handballing all together, one handed tosses are ok.

I’m now worried about our forwards being called for “deliberate out of bounds”, when having a shot at goals !!!!.

And the forwards complain like spoilt brats when they get a free kick for in the back called against them this year as well. Hipwood last night having a cry about it. I might have missed watching some teams but Freo seems to be the only team that doesn't try to self umpire these days.

This will haunt him the rest of his days.
It’s almost cruel the way the 2nd one cleared the pack & fell in his lap. I reckon he’d have rather anyone but him taking the shot. Never looked like it either.
Mind you if Heeney hadn’t been even worse at the other end it wouldn’t have been that close.
