sometimes it just not work out.
Although players used to stick it out more before. Now they want to go home after one year.
You think with all the draft camps etc there be a lot more work if they can get away from mums cooking :)
Maybe they need to ask for top ten dinners :)
We’re going to see a lot more focus on drafting from within state lines, especially early in the draft.

There’s been rumours since Wednesday, that West Coast will be focusing on drafting WA talent this year and next year.

They are keen to trade out of the top end of the draft this year, sliding back and drafting two WA kids mid first round.

Hey dlanod, can you explain to me why GWS seem to be chasing Soldo as part of the Hopper deal? I would have thought another middling ruck would be the last thing GWS needs.

Nope. Best I can guess is he's a Kingsley favourite. GWS did get knocked back on guys like Ralphsmith (which much more fits needs).

Funny how last week people, not from this board, were bagging Power fans on the Draft and Trade thread about how they were striking out on attracting anyone and now all the footy media are falling overthemselves saying the Power are clear winners of the trade period.

Fair play to them, they ve done well.

As I said last week Brad Johnson practically crying on Foxs Trading Show, tonight David King was doing the same lol

North have gone and done exactly what David King was telling them not to do.

Traded JHF and swapped pick 1. Of course he's going to have a meltdown.

Am I missing something re this article about Jackson meeting with both West Coast and Freo at the mid season bye? Like we all assumed it happened but I thought that was very off limits?

Now they are celebrating it? Very confused lol.

Jesus I hate Port.

Not a little bit. A WHOLE ****ING LOT. Utter trash club, trash supporters, trash, trash, trash.

EXHIBIT 10583673474850393736 - JHF on a 6 year deal - done, I'M SURE, with smirking, shit-eating grins, to have a laugh at North's expense. That's typical of Port. They'll wear shit-stained shorts to a party just to piss people off. If there's an accepted social norm governing a situation, you can derive it by first assessing a Port supporter/club person, and then reverse intuit according to the environment. They're forever the grubby kid who laughs at obesity, burns ants with a magnifying glass, doesn't use a tissue or handkerchief to blow their nose and after eating greasy food, wipe their dirty hands on the still unwashed shirt from last week.

If I had Musk's bank account, I'd happily give $50 billion to the Lions if they could write a club rule to NEVER draft from that shithole place. Most high profile recruit I can think of that we have taken from Alberton is Heuskes.

I rest my case.

For today :p

LOL St Kilda, this week just keeps on giving ;)

So they just extended his contract for two more years and then sack him.
Does he get a full payout minus bonuses .
A lot of teams on the merry go round.
I thought our stint on that ride was long.

I think the AFL changed the rules so its only a 6 month payout for coaches sacked in contract.

St Kilda are just completely caught in the no-mans land of mediocrity with no plan to get out. Sacking the coach at this point just keeps it going as they struggle with every aspect of being a good club.

I wonder if clubs really start trying to poach their players. King to join his brother up north?

What's Leon Cameron up to these days?

I wouldn't be throwing stones at Glass houses. We pretty much did the same with Leppa.
Swanny was never held accountable for that little miss-calculation.

I agree. If St Kilda don't sort out their off field team as the same time then they're doomed to many years at the bottom of the ladder.

I feel genuinely bad for Brett Ratten, he does not deserve this again

Yeah he's had a bum ride with clubs I hope the AFL give him Brads old role.

He deserves it.

As an aside am feeling a bit strange that Noble was part of this process, even if after the fact on the contract extension.

They cost the league a fortune and don't even contribute decent scandals anymore.

Won't be long before head office takes over to clean house.

EDIT: As an aside is a contract condition such as this challengeable in a court of law?

For example:

"Secondly, if there are uneven bargaining positions between the contracting parties, the courts may strike down limitation and exclusion clauses."
