Was watching the Suns game but copped a glimpse afterwards. Was sickening, barely grazed the floor and it had that much of an effect. Health comes first

I was watching that & thought the same. Remember the bone jarring head knocks that Troy Selwood had ? Hope he's ok & getting checked regularly.

After seeing the footage on the link below, no way he can play again.
Such a small impact, producing that effect on the body is no small matter.
I did not see the game, but did he by any chance cop any sort of head knock earlier?

I obviously say this with no joy, but it was only a matter of time before this happened. Whenever I watch a Swans game I think about him whenever I see a contest in the Swans D50.

It wasn't a big knock and the effect it had on him looked genuinely shocking. I think he is going to have a very tough life and continuing to subject his brain to this trauma is not good, but ultimately his choice. You don't know what the advice is behind the scenes, but at some point the Swans will need to stop playing him and then delist for his own health.

What i find confusing and im sure i wont put this eloquently - but you have a player that consistently is getting concussed and refuses to retire - possibly like others that are now suing the AFL - therefore at what point can the AFL just say we are not giving you a clearance to play - it is evident that Paddy will likely have significant CTE issues in later life if he keeps persisting or does the AFL make him sign a waiver or something.

Point I'm making is that it shouldnt be right for players in Patty's shoes can sue the AFL when they no the risks and keep doing it anyway unlike sensible ppl like Jas Clark who just pull up stumps - no doubt b/c all his life he was preparing for life before / after footy and footy was always his hobby unlike his livliehood and was doing it for fun - unlike the Patty's of the world where pro footy is there be all and end all.

I was surprised when another team picked him up. Perhaps it only happened because of the family connection with the Swans. Putting to one side Paddy's health, it is a terrible look for the AFL and seeing him run around out there when its not an if but a when is he going to suffer another life altering event is not what people watching AFL want to see I would have thought.

I'd trust the Swans to make a decision if necessary.

What his up with Ben King? Not a lead all night, fumbles every ground ball, just wants to take speccies 4 deep. Some serious coaching needed there.

Isn't he four games back from an ACL?

Hipwood took half a season last year before he got going. It'll come.

They could do what the Lions did and place him on the inactive list.
A few things i don't know about being placed on the inactive list.
1- Do both parties have to agree?
2- I assume some sort of payments are made but may not be at 100%

Also, by doing this the Swans can get another player in the midseason draft.

With all the tech available these days why does it take them so long to get a replay up. That's if they show it at all.

Terrible coverage.
The replays are useless anyway.Crap vision .

That kick dropped like a shot duck
A friend of mine was there and said it was the weirdest after siren noise she'd ever heard because supporters of both teams were cheering. The whole ground was cheering. She was with Swans supporters and they all presumed they'd won.

No one had much idea what happened when the PA players were embracing each other.

This season is throwing up some interesting results. No team playing unbeatable footy.
The quality of footy to start the year has been pretty poor tbf. Collingwood have been playing the best footy so far this year, but it doesn't mean much since april premierships don't count.

Who would be a coach when your team scores 3.13?.
Arguably the game should be over already.

If we were playing either of these teams we would be absolutely feasting on their turnovers. Both teams with awful awful turnovers. GWS has actually bottled a lot of Essendon’s bad ones.
