The trouble with Collingwood supporters these days is they're too self-aware of what and who they are. Carlton and Richmond fans suffer no such condition.
The second to tenth worst things a Pie supporter said to me on the weekend was "Go Pies!" which is fair enough.

maybe controversial but i dont find collingwood supporters too bad

my conspiracy theory is that supporters of the other big 3 constantly harp on about how terrible collingwoods supporter base is to mask the fact that they are all worse than collingwood themselves
And Broncos supporters can be quite feral

When people brag how great their list management and draft people are because pick 65 is a star miss the point. If you f*ck up your top pick there's no other option but to give games to 20 other late picks you make. One or two of them by necessity will rise and develop.

So judging our drafting team we've done quite well with our top picks. The last real miss was Schache.

Yes obviously, but despite the best efforts of Mr Musk it remains the best place to get breaking news rather than checking 4 different footy sites. I'm sure that will change eventually though.

When the bankers repossess it lol

Growing in up in Melbourne they were the worst by a long ways. Although I never went to Moorabbin but you did hear bad things. Essendon used to be really bad too with such a level of arrogance that was unbelievable. Thats faded but would hate to see it come back.

Richmond were always feral but you felt bad for them as they were so bad for years, kinda the running joke. Success ruined them.

Carlton have always been another club with a lot of fan issues. I know their cheer squad is meant to be one of the worst for behaviour and most Melbourne people dont want to see their arrogance return.

Really just shows that all big clubs have feral supporters who suck, especially when they are winning

It's harder when chasing talls as they legitimately take 3-4 years to develop and even then might only just be showing glimpses of what they are capable of. But the only place to normally get them is very early in the draft, so it's a risk you have to take at some point.

This is more a defense of us and Schache then what ever is going on at St Kilda.

The Dogs poaching Boyd on a huge money contract is a massive "Sliding Doors" moment (a real one, not a Damo one) here because it spooked the Saints into taking McCartin over Petracca, which is the worst miss on that list. I remember saying at the time if you want a KPF just take Petracca and play him there and he'll be better than McCartin. I'm no draft expert but that one seemed obvious to me.

Billings over Bontempelli was the consensus at the time (Bont was a draft bolter and Billings had big wraps).
King over Rozee is fine.
Clark and Coffield over Naughton makes sense if you just took McCartin and King.
Gresham over Burton isn't really a miss, IMO. Both were good early and have faded to some extent.

With Gresham, Coffield, and maybe Billings moving on this trade period it's a real shift for the Saints, they were the future stars of the club for quite a while.

Ely Smith.

But that was such a bad spot to be picking in that draft.

Back end of the 2018 draft is pretty brutal. Immediately after Ely were some good players (Bobby Hill, Rowbottom) and there were some gems later (McInerney, Lachie Schultz and Idun) but pretty big wasteland apart from them. I wonder whether Bobby Hill was even a draftable player for us given there were some concerns about his willingness to leave Perth at the time.

Swans must've some shackles released with Buddy's retirement. They tried Naughton mega deal which didn't work out.

Interesting to see them transform their midfield with Grundy, Jordon, and their interest in Adams etc. That'll be some transformation in one off season.

I’ve been to two broncos games in my life, one was a manly game. Manly supporters are a mix of pies and tigers supporters, absolute scum.
From my experience (7 years in Sydney), Souths fans are easily the worst. In the country. Easily.

They make Collingwood fans seem intelligent and articulate.

Plus Ely is the type of player we needed had he been any good.

Now that we see where we are it's understandable why we would've drafted someone of Ely's ilk.

It's a guessing game really in many respects , overall best to go for whoever you think is going to be the most likely player to have an AFL career.

Gee, lost for words.

I’m not going to say they get it right every time, but the RMC guys were spot on in their evaluation of Ely.

He would've essentially taken Dunkley's role if he had clicked. We had a few go's at getting that big sized mid to center bounces - CEY, Ely etc. In the end we had to go and recruit at a premium to address that need.

Man the Bulldogs have got pumped with this one. 10, 17 and next years first for 1 pick of note at pick 4 😮

Suns lose 204 points this year. But get Dogs future first next year.
Suns must think they have enough points to get their academy players this year. After this swap they have 3886 points

Dogs now with 4, 38, 46, 51, 67, 70, 73 or 3206 points
They obviously want someone in that top group.

There's also concerns from them that Croft might get an early bid which could've wiped out 10 (probably more likely 17).
