If the Blues lose their next 4 v Bulldogs, Magpies, Swans and Demons it is a fait accompli that Vossy will be sacked before the H&A season is done IMO.
Not that it really matters to much thesedays, but when is Voss contracted to.
Would happily have the great man back as a senior assistant at the club - sounds like the Port mids really valued him as an assistant to Uncle Ken.
I know he's not OOC this year but not sure how long, but as you said contracts mean nothing.
I'd definitely consider Vossy for an assistants role back "home" although it would depend how we finish the season, we are cruising at the moment, win the flag and if none of our current assistants want to move on there wont be room for Vossy.
Ive just been reading thru the last few pages of that Sack Voss thread on the main board and there is a part of me that would love to stay home with the popcorn and watch the Dogs v Blue game tonight and read the match day thread on the Blues BF board if they are losing.
Such a shame this game wasnt on last night.
I wasn't around on Big Footy when Vossy was coaching us, I wonder how vitriolic the discussion was on here when he was sacked by the Lions... any of the old timers fill us in?
It was a real mix. Some really toxic posts wanting him sacked and very pleased when he was. Plenty of us wishing he were retained and filthy at Angus Johnson when he knifed him.
All in the past now though. That first season Vossy was in charge in 2009 when he took us back to finals and we won that elimination final against Carlton was the best year in-between the premiership era and the Fagan era by a country mile. The start of 2010 was plenty of fun as well with the 4-0 start before the wheels well and truly fell off and the events that followed that season set us back as a club 5 years. In writing this it reminds me how grateful we should be for the past few seasons. Club is in an incredible spot compared to where it was just 7 years ago.

Most were more annoyed with the people running the club at the time, than Vossy.

No idea, although I reckon a lot may have been like alot of us and more disappointed with how Voss was sacked. I mean, I think he had reached the end of his tenure at the Lions at that stage but his departure made me and I know my Dad and other family and friends that love the club more angry.
As for Leppa, I remember wanting him gone badly in the end - the end of his reign was a trainwreck i thought particulalry our poor on field results
Not to mention the context of it being partly due to an obviously futile play for Paul Roos.

This is probably the best thread to get a sense of it, or at least the build up to it.
I think it was pretty good on here, really. But some nasty stuff on the Lions' facebook page and the Courier-Mail put people on edge.

I must admit it's a bit of a shame both games are on at the same time.
Then again, both teams are so boring to watch it's probably a good thing it's on at the same time.

Yep the lack of coaching support for Voss was criminal.
The blatantly disrespectful conduct of Angus Johnson at Vossy's exit presser must go down in Lions history as the lowest point in my time following the Bears and Lions. His lack of respect for Vossy at such a difficult time was crass, undignified and disgraceful. Vossy handled himself superbly.
it's a performance first industry. He's been given a fantastic list, a big club with big club money. He might not be up to it. Makes it worse when new coaches at other clubs are doing better with arguably poorer lists.

The Bulldog's form is okay but nothing great.
There only win against a top 8 side was against us.
Blues in a similar position with 1 win v Cats.
