Even if it’s true, we’re a pretty well run club now and I doubt we’ll struggle to find a decent replacement. Some fresh voices might not be the worst thing in the world.

Personally I don't subscribe to the "fresh voices is good" spruiking that appears so prevalent here.
It has been pointed out numeros times that for whatever reason this place is full of "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence" type people.

I've been long enough in various roles and diverse industries to learn that you need to do everything possible to keep the good operators. Good people are hard to replace. We have had a very steady and consistent football department team. You don't achieve the type of culture and competitiveness we have shown for the past five years with incompetent operators.

We were very lucky with the Fages/Noble team coming at the some time. They knew better than to shake the tree. They could see there was good talent that needed to be nurtured not turfed out and the whole club benefited. Bad environments lose good talent. Personally I would not like to lose anyone that has delivered us to this point. We are close, oh so very close and the last thing we need is to start gutting the place with a notion of lets get new voices.

It appears you have misread my post and lumped me in with a school of thought based on that.

I’m not cheering for Daly to leave. He is a part of that well run club. My point is—it’s better to lose those figures in a position of strength when you trust your club to make good appointments. There may yet be silver linings. Change isn’t necessarily good but neither is stasis.

I don't really care who wins tonight, we finish 1st or 2nd I'm equally as happy, after all our 3Peat side never won a minor premiership.

Would be phenomenal to see the Demons and Port lose though.

Cats beating the pies gives us another top 2 spot we can chase though. If we win out and collingwood lose 2, we probably overtake them on percentage. Whereas I have a strong feeling the dees are going to end up ahead of us (hopefully carlton and the swans beat them, but they seem to be pulling results out of their arse at the moment).

But if Collingwood win there's a chance we win all 3 and still finish 3rd or 4th

If Collinwood lose and we win all 3 then we only have a have a better percentage than 1 of Collingwood or Melbourne to finish top 2
