Norf makes a Tom Boyd-esque offer for Heeney

$1m+ a year for Heeney??

  • Way way overs

  • Too much, but how else can Norf ever attract talent

  • Fair price but still a gamble

  • Too little.. because I'm drunk, stoned or a Norf flog

I have watched the 2016 Grand Final many times and I can honestly say that I have never noticed Heeney at any stage during the match.

There were multiple players in that match (Boyd, Kennedy, Franklin, Bontempelli) who it could be argued are worth $1m a year, but Isaac wasn't one of them.
Watching too many throws, knee crashes, umpires only holding arms one way, not 50m for shoulder charges after marks, cant see the forest for the trees. .

Frawley being on 650k is worse than Vickery being on 500k.

Your predictable and boring. It's likely your jaded by the fact Geelong had a great era but it will be resigned to an afterthought because Hawthorn managed three on the bounce. When teams think of the greatest of all time the debate will always, at present, be around Collingwood in the 1920s, Melbourne in the 1930s and of recent Brisbane and Hawthorn. That's it. We all enjoy BF because we get to stir the pot and be completely subjective. But at the end of the day Hawthorn past and present trumps your mob in all facets from membership to success. It's a bitter pill for you to swallow I'm sure...

Just quickly on Frawley, you do realise he knocked back an offer of 750k from you mob right?

Salty. Mmmmm.

No need to derail a good lol Norf thread with Sydney Salt.

Well done to Norf for modelling themselves on the premiers. Just a shame they couldn't execute - again.

I actually don't see a problem with this. A lot of people mention Danger, Bont and Fyfe and rightly so, but Heeney has the tools to be in that category. His finals campaign was unbelievable and he has only played 2 seasons. He has demonstrated the ability to play as almost a key forward because of his leap, but ultimately he will be a midfielder and an elite one at that. Maybe we are all mindful of the concept of a 1 million dollar man, but really over the next few years there will be 10 or 12 players on this amount. Any dogs fans questioning this should understand paying on potential. Heeneys potential is a top 5 player calibre, Boyds was as a top 5 key forward. If each lives to that billing both a worth the money.

Backfire Norf and others. He's signed on for another 5 years. LOL all the tin foil hats who said Buddy would ruin our culture and make it impossible to keep great talent. We've kept everyone bar Mumford.

Blocked Tom Mitchell from your memory already? That must be a deep, deep scar.

Probably because you have sweat in your eyes each time you watch.

Perfect example of an insecure Hawfie right here...

Yeah then we had to settle for Danger :(

Not really. I would imagine insecurity is more appropriate to an individual that sends 6,000 emails 'potting' their boss. We can hate them, lack respect for them but every Monday when we show to work they tell us what to do.

Nah.
We are certaintys for 5 or 6 flags remember

Pretty sure the AFL would step in after 2 flags. That said, if GWS cant get to 2 flags then it has been a $200m experiment gone wrong.

Mind you, the fault mostly lies with whoever thought it would be a good idea to hire Sheedy as coach. That set the club back 2 years.

And do what? We have the same cap and list size.
The Riverina is probably gone after next year.
Not much else they can do
