Tassie Govt has refused to fund the games, meaning that instead of $500k per game it is now down to $250k. The States finances were the reason given. JB you've done it again.

A decision was expected today but Premier Lara Giddings yesterday decided the state could not afford to pay for AFL games at Bellerive while the state faced financial challenges. ''At a time when we are having to cut back in key areas like education and health and police, we just cannot put money into football,'' Giddings said.

Got the Royal Wedding next week, should be good.

Thread may be full of FAIL, but a reminder of Norf's unnervingly innate shifulness is always timely.

It's impossible to blame the Tassie government for being so keen to back Hawthorn after everything we've done for the state, yet balk at the idea of flushing good money down the shitter to help keep Norf on life-support.

10 years from now we're guaranteed Tassie's future premier will be openly admitting the Norf deal was a huge mistake.

No, 10 years from now, the only guarantee we have is you will still be peddling the same lame old shit about North's impending demise.

Nice try, Bosk, but the OP remains the biggest loser on this thread.

It's nice that you think so, but it's actually extremely unlikely.

Norf's only chance to survive is now to relocate to either Tasmania or Ballarat. You may not want to agree, but ever since Norf's 'glory days' of the 90's all the evidence has shown that the club cannot survive in Melbourne, at least not without continued AFL assistance.

On the other hand, if both Tassie and Ballarat decide they want nothing to do with Norf (bit of an inevitability I'd say) then your club is doomed, and it's only a matter of time before they shut up shop.

In either case I won't be complaining about Norf 10 years from now. Either they'll relocate and cease to be a parasite leeching money from successful clubs or they'll fold and we can all have a good laugh about it.

In the likely event that this will not happen and that I don't wanna see posters on the bay get upset.....I'm going to be handing a few of these out.....

I guarantee you that these will fold :thumbsu:
No need to thank me Bosk ;)
