Got tickets to Cyndi Lauper and Blondie last night.

I hate to say it, because I think she is the greatest singer of all time, but Ms Harry's voice isn't as good as it used to be, she can't reach the higher notes on some of Blondie's classic songs anymore, such as Heart Of Glass, Atomic, Rapture, Sunday Girl and Call Me. I suppose it happens when you are in your seventies.

Is this the same that was on foxtel espn - there were 5 x 2hours shows?

Yep.

I thought Debbie Harry was the hottest thing on two legs. The thought of her on two legs and a Zimmer Frame makes her less hot, especially if accompanied by a more baritone voice.

Just saw Fred Smith at the Trades Hall Centre in Melbourne with his Dust of Uruzgan show. Brilliant story telling that will give you a great insight into some of the events over the last 15 years in Afghanistan.

Dust of Uruzgan, Sappers Lullaby and Taliban Fighting Man were the highlights for me.

Highly recommend his book of the same name.

Kate Ceberano at Crown was a good gig too, $80 for a 2 hour show with not a teeny bopper in sight was a bonus.

It was 40 years ago next month that Blondie released their self titled debut, when Debbie was 31 years old. A decade earlier she was a part of the psychodelic movement and released an album with her band the Wind And The Willows. At Blondie's peak (1978-81) was she in her mid thirties and the hottest thing on two legs.

Apologies if I put you a bit of a kybosh on your excitement, I didn't mean to do that. Debbie maybe 71, but she is still an elegant woman, and Blondie tour every year so she remains fit and works hard on putting in a good show every night on stage. At least that was the case the last time I saw them which was around 2013. Other than her voice and hair (her use of peroxide for the last 50 years has meant that she now has to wear wigs) she is still very good performer on stage and more than capable of continuing on for as long as Mick Jagger.

Pardons if this show has been mentioned yet,

Anyone watched Chance? I've watched the first 2 episodes, it's been good. That dude who played house & the fat dude from American History X are in it.

Fair enough. Gaso stick to Survivoro_O

Gaso watching-

The Crown- done
Westworld- lubbing
The Missing Season 2- lubbing quality
Quarry- lubbed

...the past four weeks and at the moment and not meandering-self-indulgent-going-nowhere plots that was Chance.

You stay at my place.

I did follow your lead with Quarry. Really like it. I've only got one episode left

Just had a listen to Emma Quayle's podcast of the 2001 draft. Jude, Ball & Hodge are on the first episode. I found it really insightful. Check it out if you want something to.

...well this is what happened, Quarry goe
I lold.
This is the mind **** of Westworld...

Also enjoying both Westworld & Quarry... Although I wish that I hadn't ventured into the Westworld thread on the Media & Entertainment board.

Are you talking about GG?

Nah, some bloke who calls himself Gasometer! ;)

In general tbh. The usual "looking into every single detail too much now, rather than enjoying the show as entertainment".

Dick Wilkins said best science movie in some time.

Any Wookies in it?

My 11 year old sat mesmerized through the whole two hours.

No Wookies I'm afraid.

But as a coincidence, when my 11 year old saw the posters of Rogue One we had a chat about Star Wars. She asked me about where Chewwy was from. I tried to use the Wookie Holiday Special to explain (unsatisfactorily).

Going to watch the 1st episode of Mars on National Geographic at 7:30, think it is kind of semi documentary/drama kind of thing,Ron Howard is one of the directors, sounds interesting, and i have read multiple good reviews.

Yes over analysis to the max.

He is predicting it's demise on a 6/10 episode.
