Just running the Kashmir Willow size 6 at the moment truck, all you need when majority of your runs come from a little trickle around the corner.
I agree though, what the heck are Boort thinking? They have recruited over a team of players, either they are going to win this thing by a bulls roar or they are going to have some very unhappy local 2's boys.
Wedderburn will soon be lodging clearances for a couple of players I am told, unlike roco we are waiting our turn to lodge them though.
Triple header for Dreamtime at the 'G' this year i'm told, Tiges, Bombers and Nissan Saints. Where is all the coin coming from?

Thats a bit rich! They havnt upset their games record holder by recruiting from Bendigo!
Although the rest of us aren’t real happy about it their recruits usually hang around for a few years

Plenty of country and metro Vic players head North in the summer to play NTFL. What's the difference?
NTFL clubs recruit from down South, why not the other way around?
Personally, I am confident to say that some of the top end guys ask for a lot less than some bloke down here who does a VFL pre season and reckons that alone should command big bucks.
And why shouldn't they be paid? They are living at the other end of the country away from Family and mates and stuff. Apparantly a couple of Saints recruits have either played or actually been on an AFL list. That at leasts proves they can play quality footy. At the end of the day, all you blokes are talking about it, creating the publicity which will most likely turn into gate takings, bar sales, canteen sales etc,probably going a long way to funding the recruiting.
Some locals may be unhappy, but there is often unhappy local players for plenty of reasons eg change of coach etc. Plenty more probably enjoy playing footy with these guys and the supporters always love a victory over a drubbing anyday.

Yes, clearance numbers in look impressive! Probably over half are ex players, ex locals while the others are friends of locals or coach. Many retirements, not many kids hanging around after Yr 12 and a need to improve depth have meant the recruiters have been busy. Can't ever remember a year where we have had too many players! Just doesnt happen!

The side with the best FF CHF combo in the comp and coming off back to back flags with minimal outs. I'd say the Burners will be the side to beat.
Good to see them keeping a few of their recruits. Any talent with the team full of blokes boort have got?
Im not so sure about this truck, if St Arnaud have got the indigenous boys they say they have, they will surely be the best team in the comp.
Apparently they signed a fella from down Gippsland way on Saturday, he bought up 2 other mates that are also said to be 'keen on playing". The 2 mates are big bodies but not as good as the main bloke, not sure on names at the moment, if Rocco could lift his game and start dishing some info out that would be good.
Wedderburn have got White Hills at White Hills this weekend.

St Arnaud had Stawell on Saturday and went down by 5 goals, plenty missing though from all reports.
Few missing as they were playing in a grand final up north!!

The thing with all the clearances Boort are putting through is a large majority are past players or locals that are coming back which is good to see.. E.g. parker boys, dale cameron, wilson etc.. There are hardly any genuine recruits in there.. The Dehnes are cousins of R.Easton and all players have some sort of connection to the town which is what we have aimed for!
Birchip have a prac match the week after Easter vs huntly
The same applies everywhere though, most recruits have a connection somewhere to someone already at the club... It's a moot point
