Re: North Central Football League

I will join you on that Holy Grail. Boort averaged to beat St.Arnaud by 30 Goals Last year. Thats a fair margin to make up. If i was that horse i would have nothing to worry about.:thumbsu:

Pull your head in Bull, who do you play for now? Your not bad at getting on here and bagging StA, you got your money coaching here last year so stop your b!tch!ng

Settle down mate. it was a fair call. U seriously think St Arnuad will beat Boort?

After watching one of the best NC games in years with Boort down and out and getting up over Birchip, it seems that with a full side, the pies are going to be challengers in 2007. Boort's best - Nelson, Cooney, Reid, Gooding, Rutleys with plenty of contributers. Tim Barry 5 goal first half set the win up and Cam Chalmers playing on Brad Ryan was abrave move but worked as it freed the whiteman up to control the backline.

St Arnaud shouldn't get anywhere near Boort next week although who knows?? On form and last few years St Arnaud can't match it with the pies and don't seem to be able to recruit the right type of players to succeed at this level. After about 20 years of floggings, it will be interesting to see how they go about resurrecting the competitiveness of the club!!!

Re: North Central Football League

Overall, after today, ofcourse dissapointment is my main thought, however theres alot to be learnt by the kids at the Club... Bruce Hando played brilliantly down forward, as did Solyom when on the field (played about half the game) Needsie is back...

Rather large "cuffufle" late in the last, Turtle came off after copping one to the snoz...

Umpires were disgraceful! were rarely at the play, and wouldn't reward a good tackle for either side! They should have just thrown the ball up when the melee started... history shows 9 times out of 10 the fight stops and they go after the ball... McHugh..PFFT!

while Jess Douglas and Dan Pickthall done well in the ruck, they were no match for Wyche's ruckman, he would win the ball 8 times out of 10, and 6 times of those 8 he would find Joel Turner/Boe Bish/Ricky Allen...3 future stars of the NCFL.

42 goals in the game, the action was non stop...given that 20 of them were ours, we can safely say that our weaknesses are in the Defense...

Next week for the saints: Boort - it will be a struggle, but with Drummy probably coming back, and maybe a change or 2 here and there, who knows what will happen, it wont be a 25 goal loss though!!

a special Congratulations to the dignified moron who decided to spark up after the game.... Enjoy the win mate, because next week, its Wedderburn, and you will need all the help you can get....Stenhouse to kick 8!

Re: North Central Football League

St Arnaud don't seem to be able to recruit the right type of players to succeed at this level.

You should know how it works by now...

The Recruiting group had quite an extensive list of players they were eyeing out.... half of them want to stay at the club they are at...6-7 guys lead us on, 2-3 ask for absurd amounts of cash, and we're left with 3-4 legit possibilities, who in the end, change their mind anyway!

Its just something the club has to persist with, and work on...The time will come...

all clubs have their period without the halfhide...afterall...how long has it been since Boort won a premiership?

Re: North Central Football League

What were the results for today?

From what i can gather, Wychy beat St A??? good to see wychy getting reward after such a horrid year last year. will make a few boys relived after coming back to the club.

Burn beat Charlton!

Boort beat Birchip?

Am i right?

Some very interesting results...

Birchips favouritism is definitely faded. Boort has claimed it's stake at a flag posibility. And both Wedderburn AND charlton has made a point that they'll be there.

Top 4 for mine, Wedderburn, Charlton, Birchip, Boort in no particular order.

Go Sav's

Re: North Central Football League

as paul hogan said on crocodile dundee tonight.."you wouldnt be dead for quids"..best game of ncfl footy you will ever see..great goals ..punches ..reports..hangers..boort winning..yeah..you little riper!!!!!
boort came out firing early with tim barry kicking some early goals and boort taking the early lead into 1/4 time..much the same in the second with andy cooney doing a great job on cliffy ryan..and boort remaining in the lead when pudja rutley drilled one from long range on the boundary..much to the dislike of robbie lee..so much so as they exchanged pleasantry's which saw the goal sneak being reported and yellow carded!!..after a tough 3rd quarter wich saw birchip go 10 points up , boort would answer to kick the last 2....a tight last quarter would see the lead change twice..with boorts r rutley marking strongly and executing from 30 to give boort the slight buffer..but birchip hit back with some inbred **** snapping one to put them up by 4 points..tough final minutes saw c rutley at his best ..busting packs hitting targets and following upeach kick to set up the much maligned troy ferrier (superboot)..(goldenboot)..(CLUTCH).. to take the mark from fifty and play on and drill it home to put boort up by 2 points...birchip giving everything rallied and slotted the ball down the throat of ryan 25 out..as the siren sounds...boort up by 2..couldnt miss could he...ooooooh yeah ......you beauty....thats a behind, ryan misses from close range and boort celebrate a pretty bloody good win....SUPERS VOTES 3 C RUTLEY 2 N REID 1 D BARTRAM!!

hey roc, that dignified moron wouldn't have been matt hommy by any chance? he had a fair bit to say to ward aswell, but more to that 41. is he one of the ballarat boys?

Re: North Central Football League

nah, he went at Lloyd...dont know why...probably cuz Lloyd played so well lol

Wardy fired back

"You (blanks) have 1 win a year and you think you are (blankin') king (blank)... Wait till next time (blank) face"

During the game #50 (dont know who it was, aven't got the recorder) had a go at ward...ward fired back with fists blazing... Matt Tinkler (who played well) dragged 50 away, and got in his ear... 20 seconds later, 50 went off the ground (not sure, may have been blood nose) came back later on, and had another go... Wardy just laughed it off and kept playing footy

As for someone yappin at #41 for us (Brett Wilson) was probably justified, afterall, it was Willow who gave a goodun to Turtle.

@ jj66, Wardy done alright down forward, took a few grabs, made quite a few spoils. as he gets fit again he will get more touches. We have to keep Wardy positive, cuz we all know what can happen when he gets ticked off!

Re: North Central Football League

I hear he and robbie lee are the umpires favourite players...apparently andrew cooney and young bugs were magnificent in defence !!
What happened to the red head brigade yesterday roc?? looks like a long looooong year for the saints!!

Roobie Lee is a favourite for sure. Did anybody see the incedent yesterday in the Boort versus Birchip game??

Re: North Central Football League

Can someone from St. Arnaud please tell me what happened yesterday? was it lack of fitness or did you guys just play poor footy?

Justified, bloody oath it was justified. Was one of the dirtiest acts i have seen on a footy field for awhile. Should have been reported for sure. Im not sure but i think #41 was the player that hit young Will Howson in a marking contest after he had marked the ball and landed, should have been reported for that aswell.

As for Clint Ward and Shane Harrison that was just two blokes going toe to toe, nothing wrong with that.

Bloody good win though, hopefully the first of many for this season.

Re: North Central Football League

It was a much better style of footy that the Dee's applied to the game, the added bonus of Zac White (got a great kick from the standstill, nothing special on the run from what i saw) and Tinkler returning would boost the prospects going into the future

Next week will be tough for them tho, with Wedderburn firing!

Whats wrong with a bit of biff on the field we don't see it anymore. and yes maybe it was a bit dirty but it was good to watch!

Re: North Central Football League

I tell you what happened. Robbie lee the dirty snipering little p**** had been trying to stir up trouble all game then he went behind play and hit Robert Rutly in the face. Just about everyone saw it except the umpires and even with blood all over Robert's face they could still do nothing about it. Then things got out of control and Rutly threw a punch that never even connected and he was the one that got sent off with a yellow card and got reported which was the biggest load of bulls*** i have ever seen!!! When he was the one with the face full of blood!! Absolute disgrace.

So i am guessing that before that at the centre bounce you didnt see rutly come off the line, and whilst lee was on the bottom of the back proceed to drill both knees in and give a nice punch to the jaw?? no??

dont think it was just someONE the whole crowd got into him and fair enough. thought a few of the old blokes were gonna jump the fence an lay into him. Wilson ran around the pack trying to hit blokes from behind. some other bloke had turtle in a headlock an gave three quick whacks to the turtles face, even heard a st arnaud bloke say it was a dog act. theres nothing wrong with blokes giving each other a bit of a touch up like wardy an harrys wrastle but the wilson inncident was terrible. absolute coward looked over his shoulder for the rest of the game.

I have never heard a bigger load of shit! It's a mans game few blokes cop a couple however, good, great get on with it the saints should show a bit more ticker like that for four quarters they might just get the four points.:thumbsu:

Re: North Central Football League

Wedderburn vs Charlton - Im tipping Charlton...but they need to stop Stenhouse! Tim Hill will probably get the job. Charlton too quick for the Burn

Birchip vs Boort - Birchip by 5 big ones

Wyche/Narraport vs St Arnaud - St Arnaud comfortably...Solyom with 8, Hando with 4, Needs with 3+ We're starting to get a structure going, and this is where it begins for the Saints.

guess it just wasnt your week for tipping MOR....along with a few others. Good to see three close games in same round for the NCFL. Seems like plenty of action in each game!! Weederburn just seem to be cruising along nicely, charlton very close behind and boort and birchip next in line....will the saints change much this week coming up against boort?
