This frustrates me as you use the sentence "reports of what" he said. Only those people at the tribunal know what was said. If it was me I wouldn't play like Leigh P and take cheap shots at other players.

I was there on the field, I saw it, I know what happened. You do not, Cheap shot, you idiot!!!
Just 2 boys having a go at each other, no one needed to be even sent off. Just pay a free kick and get on with it. Rhodes did the wrong thing, end of story.

The incident happened two metres right in front of me so I do know what happened. I am not saying that Rhodes didn't retaliate after copping the first cheap shot, he got Leigh a beauty! Also I agree that the umpires should have probably just awarded a free quick. What I am saying is that it's not all one sided - it's just that Leigh had to accept a week and the tribunal refused to overtune it, whereas Rhodes was lucky to be able to accept the one week. Also you don't have to get personal and start name calling, I am just expressing the way I feel.

although this incident may not have been a cheap shot, im sure picoane has given a few out in his time!!!! and i bet most players in ncfl would agree!!

anyway 2007 is upon us and 2006 forgotten let the issue die!!!

Fair enough, sorry about the name calling. I agree that it is not all one sided however how something like that goes to the tribunal in the first place is beyond me, we are not playing netball..... and Leighs shot was not cheap, they were standing toe to toe......

What about aside from all of this when the dirty little squirta stood up at the tribunal and said that he got belted, and was seeing stars, and worried about his personal welfare which is why he struck Leigh back. That is f u cked. What happened to a bit of looking after eachother. Rhodes had every opportunity to present evidence which would help Piccioanes case.

I agree that the incident should never have gone as far as the players getting a week and that it shouldn't have gone to trial. I just get a bit frustrated that Rhodes gets his name stomped on all the time as he really is a decent bloke. Let's move to the 07 season.

Great Stat Navies! Interesting point too seing as i think Charlton will probably be the only improvers from last years finals campaign.

On the Rhodes case.

I think you anti-rhodes people need to ask yourself one question, If you were standing in the tribunal a week before the grand final and the bloke you've just been going toe-to-toe with is on the striking charge... Would you pronounce your love for him?
I too think that it would be wrong to go in and talk the incident up like the reports have suggested. But he was hardly going to make him sound like an angel either.
Anything short of Rhodes blowing wind up his arse was ALWAYS going to have the one week outcome! The North Central Tribunal take the view that what is good for one culprit is fair for the other. So the key factor was actually Rhodes taking the set week! NOT what he said at the tribunal!

Trust me as i know from experience. Imagine being commended on a terrific case only to be told that because the other guy has to miss out on a final then its only fair that you should too! regardless of whether you proved your innocence! Then after the case have a person on the tribunal committee tell you that you were stiff! It's just the unproffesionalism of NCFL but you have to cop it!

And i don't think you heard anyone from wedderburn squeeling like you Anti-Rhodes people do after Bond/Charlton evidence was put forward.

Don,t know T Gun who is he? worth going to the footy a watching him. I heard Mr. Nick Parker is playing for Swan Hill though big loss there for Boort they need to keep good young home grown players like him there first before thay look else where for players.

Does anyone know who paul gleeson is redhot? And im a little surprised about Nick Parker leaving Boort, quality player, although his old man is heavily involved in the club. Is that from a verified source?

I think they wanted to know why you said 'Ouch', meaning why not say it to the majority of clearances that are put in. E.g. Atkinson, Connors & Hutton (in the not too distant future). They will hurt their clubs more significantly.

Anyway boys, your arguing about nothing!

Back to football, what clubs have recruited? The transfer season is open and we can't wait for clubs to lodge clearances so why not say who's new at training for each club.
