Re: North Central Football League

Wedderburn are lloking to be the dark horse for this season. With some quality recruits in Gash an Barnes, (cant comment on Pearce an Stenhouse) and with their list of last year, alot of quality youngsters who could take the step up in Hayes, an Weston an Colbert. Mix these in with their list of the previous year and they are lookin alrite, can anyone tell me if they have lost any? any chance in getting the other 2 Connors boys back ? theyld be a real force with them 2.

7 came up, still 2-3 to come (including Boyington who didn't play)

Mark Holmes played well down back, Local Youngster Ian Moerman played really well.

Needs back to his old self...carved it up.

Drum good in the ruck

as for goalkickers, i didn't take note of them.

as for 2003, i never once said how many....and there is a chance of one or more returning, however the likelyhood of it has decreased, on atleast one of them

Re: North Central Football League

St. Arnaud Played very well yesterday, there tackling was fantastic all ballarat boy aquited themselves well espcially Wilson and Holmes, Moerman was very good across half back as was Hando who looked 25 again, Needs Jimmy Coloe and Soly Controlled the forward line with ease. It was a solid hit out against a pretty handy side

Re: North Central Football League

Who really cares how much money clubs are spending on Players?! Providing they can afford to do it- well good on them! They are all businesses and we don't complain when a business buys the best CEO do we!!
My opinion is that if you have the money- then you spend it! There isn't a section on the premiership cup that asks how many players the club paid. In my opinion- clubs should buy what they can to be successful (providing they have the resources to do it)

Re: North Central Football League

Thats exactly it, i dont like the way its turning into a business, but given that it is, clubs need to do it as well as they can!

Re: North Central Football League

So long as they're doing their level best to keep a ground up to standard, and provide amenities at matches, if a club's not amateur it should be able to pay what it likes without gaining a bad name for it.

On the other hand if someone buys every retired brownlow medallist for their forward line but is the only club without a wall around their dunnies, you'd be thinking about asking the question!

Re: North Central Football League

Can anyone confirm the progress of Boorts recruiting campaign. Has been a lot said on this forum. Heard a whisper that they had a few more possibilities that played in a pracitice match on the weekend!

Re: North Central Football League

Wedderburn played carisbrook on the weekend. Ran out easy winners with the new recruits proving the burn have sought the right mix.
Barnes was a class above and the new Full Forward had 8 goals in 3/4's

But more pleasing for the local brigade was the form of Adam Ritchie. Hopefully he can have a solid season this year and show the talent we know he is nursing.

Anyone else go to the game? would like to hear your thoughts on it.
Cheers!

Was thinking about having a look as I was in the area on the weekend. Thought it would be a close game, but I guess not Patty.

The new Full Forward, is that Stenhouse?

No, no recruits worth noting. Watched the game on the weekend and thought they were rather hopeless! Couldn't believe the loss of three good players could do that to a team.
