Well minyip was his home club and they merged with murtoa creating a new club, so therefore it is a different club altogether than the one he grew up playing for. so he really has no ties there

That's a pretty drastic view fists... It's still his club, surely they keep a bit of each towns Footy history when they merge, they are neighbouring towns with a lot to do with each other.. they didn't get sent to queensland or anything...
I wonder who will be the butch and who will be the bitch when whyche merge with Nullawil??

Always interesting this year to see who is transporting players up to fill their stocks each year?

This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever read on Big Footy! It's a merger mate.... not a takeover! Generally speaking in most mergers, both clubs heritage are preserved and they try to take into account the best interests of both clubs. I'm sure he would still consider that the club he played for as a junior!
 
righto only 8 weeks out from the season proper and this thread has gone pretty quiet.....surely there are players coming and leaving.....

here's some of things heard on the grapevine.....

Donald - IN coleman anderson, mark kingma, brendan jennings, trav baird and michael rowe. Out Gene brooks?

Charlton - IN Tim Hill, Matt Gretgrix, Devon Brown, Josh Ketterer, Hartley, Wilson Out - Tom Gill, Frances Gill, James Ginivan, Craig McNab?, Shannon Goldsmith?

Boort - In ben walklate? Out brett jeffries? aaron wilson, rutleys?

Birchip In Jono Doran, David Morrisey Out Brad Davies? Josh Forster? Abrahams * 2?

Wedd - In Ryan Hayes Out Stenhouse, douglas, hughson, sonogan, polglase, polkinghorne, fevelaki, tokin, mills

St/A In Alister Egan Out Solyom, Jesse Douglas

Wyche In Marty Shadbolt Out Josh White


Obviously some of those are guesses so its open for correction

Birchip have lost Ryno to big fella

And Wedderburn have picked up a bloke very similar in size to Hayes (work mates) but don't think the ability is any where near that of Hayes

Some significant losses at The Burn...any news on any new arrivals ?

Barnes definately isnt leaving the burn, if he was heading back to the LVFL it would be to Mitiamo, where he played juniors and has a few good mates there. He will play at Miti again, but not yet, good call giving him the assist job.
 
MFS, you seem to be the resident expert here. Has anyside gone without a victory in a season in the NCFL? I am lead to believe that 2009 may be a year for record breaking in the NCFL

I'd imagine that it would have occured, Wedderburn went 40 something years without a flag, Boort were down for a long time, St Arnaud and Donald and even Wyche have had their fair share of dud years.

In other news, i'm hearing that Jeffrey, 2x Rutleys, Wilson, are all leaving the oasis.

Obviously can't confirm at this point, as VCFL transfers are still not publicly displayed yet.

I don't reckon Whycheproof Narra won a game in 2002 picked up players the following year to make finals then the Granny the year after.

Which club dont u think will win a game in 2009 yestie?
 
Word is he can just hit ya lace time and time again, not just with the footy but with anything from melbourne tins too hot girls...
 
I reckon B-W only won one game in either 04 or 05 but it was against Donald so it counts for 3 or 4 wins in my book. Can't remember a team not winning a game in recent history but it has probably happened quite a few times since the league began.

See Hamo at Huntly has picked up three young NCFL boys in Millsy from Wedderburn and Douglas and Lloyd from St Arnaud
