In the end does it really matter? Clubs in the country have to take risks to get players to keep the club going as there is getting less and less players in the country. Obviously some risks pay off and some dont and in this case not currently working..Yes the club helped but no promises were placed down. didnt crash or get a car, has his house which he pays rent for as stated before and as his job empolyment oppotunity arose and the club steered the employer his way then it was out of their hands. Plus his payments could be only per senior game? just think of where birchip would actually be if they didnt have these recruits..a hell of a lot worse off as they are now.

As for injuries and interleague..all clubs dont want their star players pullin on the boots as its a big risk for them and the player. as for only one birchip player pulling on the boots last year i think there wasnt that many chosen to begin with 4 was it maybe? could be mistaken. i think players find it as another oppotunity to have a prob well deserved rest. im all for interleague thou..good time to showcase your skill not only for yourself but also for the league and country footy.
Well said Shagnasty....... I think it also needs to be pointed out simple simon, that recruits bring many things to a club - one being their football talents.....

But, I'm not sure if you realise this, country sporting clubs aren't solely about winning a flag, although this is important, sporting clubs are about providing opportunities for country people to play sport and interact in a postive way. The recruits, bring another level of social atmosphere to the club - locals get to meet new people and the recruits get to build new friendships. As an example, the Geelong boys are a crackin group! And have been involved in the club both on and off the field! Another example - Zac Holmes, moved to Birchip following playing with our club for a few years....Jay Fisher - regularly visiting Birchip..... Riley koops continues to travel the four hours back to his local club to play, despite his parents relocating to Geelong!
It's important to widen our blinkers here fellas - its not all about the holy grail - its about the journey on the way......

Oh and by the way - its Birchip-Watchem not just Birchip.... Thanks

ROUND 6

BIRCHIP-WAT VS ST ARNAUD
Tight contest with St Arnaud on the improve to bit a little to strong getting up by 18pts

CHARLTON VS DONALD
After Donald suffering a defeat in round one to open there eyes will be hard to beat all year. Will win easy 60pts

BOORT VS WEDDERBURN
A home ground advantage will help boort, but will be over run to suffer there second loss in a row and drop to third on the ladder. Burn by 35pts

WHYCHE-N'PORT
Will enjoy a couple of weeks of starting with a training sesion tonight followed by a couple of frothies and some karaoke! Should get the boys playing some good footy.

Not far off the money... although Kiz and Monkey area alright... their not good looking but their alright.

Whats the news on Walklate.... sore cheek?? who? how? what?

Good to see the Wyche boys repaying the favour to Nully to, few Nully juniors have came our way to help with numbers over the last year or 2 and Brock Spenno Riley and George all headed that way for under 17s on the weekend with a big win.

Walklate copped a very solid elbow to the jaw, broken I believe. Dirty act.

The player was immediately sent off.

A lit of controversy arose when he came back on. According to Boort he came on a few minutes too early.

Haha talk it up mate. . .
The elbows impact to walklates cheek would be defined as "solid" or "very solid" or "bone crunching" or "bone breaking" so yeah
As he was helped into the changerooms i over heard oldman rick walklate, walk past the wedderburn committee and call the certain player a
"dirty cu^ts u wedderburn bastards, you'll keep"
So was a pretty exciting time around the ground, got a bit of feeling back into the game but it was a little to late as burn held on by bout 3-4 goals i think.

So whats the interleague team does anyone have it?
Any injuries from the weekend??

Talking to yourself there Big King? From all accounts the elbow on Ben Walklate was a dog act, but you wouldn't expect much more from Luke Brown, can barely get a kick himself and is always going for the cheap shots. Would definately been his personal highlight of the game. Dog.

Any thoughts on the strength of the leauges team for saterday?

I see in the Weekly Times that last year Yarra Vally Mountain District gave Belrine Football Leauge a fair touch up by the tune of 70 points. Hopefuly its not a repeat of last year!

GO NCFL!!!!!

Well they should be competitive depending on who has put there hands up to play, i think it was 2 years ago at st arned matt rice kicked a goal after the siren to win it for them, so unless a lot of ppl are pulling out they might be competitive.
Does anyone no what the team is??
Also pretty open report about the wedderburn boort game from the weekend in the loddon times, well worth a read.
Walklate sookin his **** off again.
Does anyone no if boort has put in an official complaint??

Rumours of....

Funcke, Noonan, Perryman, Walklate, Shadbolt, all out

Yarra Valley victorious in both matches... Cam Perry VCFL medallist in the 18's, and Ross Funcke in the Seniors.

Injuries, Tim Rhook knee, and Jon Baird Knee... Bairds in particular looked nasty, and i'm sure Rhookie will give us an update pretty soon, himself.,

RHooke out for the season...
massive blow for the magpies this year, he'd just started to fit right into perrymens spot and now this, sounds like another year of injuries for the maggies..
wats the words on ben, will he be returning?

Ross Funke a class player and deserved the medal, finally played on more then a lid, and best he's played in a long time.. should consider taking someone around his ability and paying respect more often..

GO Blues!

Nah thats him Ex North Melbourne player, pretty handy type, but unfortunatly thats his season and career done. . . . Poor bastard, now i can see why people dont want to play interleague, may have just missed out on a chance to play in a premiership in his swansong year.

So any news from the weekend? Reports, Injuries?
An angry little man from charlton got sent off for swinging a punch at Danny Benaim. Think he was number 14, last name Frisk maybe!!!
Pretty unnecessary actually.
Game was pretty run of the mill, no stand outs for either team, Barnes bagged another 9 which puts him one step closer to the goal kicking.
