That all depends on who your preferred choice is
If a club is prepared to split then that usually means their preferred choice is later and want to get an extra to slide rather than reach for that player. I think we all know who that player is and North will split their pick.
Its only a matter of which team and for what extra
We would already have plans in place if we can't split. We are really in a no lose position Get a gun at 2 or 2 good picks a bit later.

Thats great but a bit off track to what i posted

If the preferred player is Tauru then that would be the player the club has decided it wants and is their target
2 good picks later would be either with Richmond or GWS

Unless you think there is an alternative which id be interested to see

There is always an alternative. Have we actually come out and said we will be picking Taura or just Big Footy gossip. If we don't split we will more than likely pick FOS.

Brady Rawlings has said the club is looking to slide down and most media reporting its for Tauru
Cant imagine any club stating 'Yes we will be picking XXX player" Without revealing their hand and to expect that from any club would be extremely naive.

Regarding " Just take FOS "
Clubs dont do that , They dont announce intentions if they dont intend to trade the pick for the player they have decided on but they may just reach up and more than likely take the player they want and if thats Tauru then they reach

Don't always believe the media.

I know this for a fact... Tauru is not in the top 3 players on our board. He is however in the region if we needed to drop back but the temptation will come not from the pick we get to use on him, it's the sweet massage in the second pick we get to let another club take our top target.

Being open to moving back is not the same as looking to slide, it's not the same as being "desperate to split" as I've seen some say.

Our want for Tauru has been completely overrated recently and it is clouding the way people think we are going to operate.

I cant see any possible way you could know this unless you are Brady or Will

But if he is not in the top 3 players on your board then North must really be a rabble to select the 4th player on their board for a 'extra' pick that doesnt look like being in the top 20 on draft night

I never said he was the 4th player on our list, I just said he's not top 3.

Agreed

Tauru is not in your top 4 but North wanting to slide
Media must be wrong. But would love to know who the top 4 are on your board if you can PM me
just to see if your info is FACT when draft id finished

Oh, I see where our wires are crossed. As I said, our want to slide is not quite accurate, we're open to it in the right scenario. West Coast were open to trading 1 to us last year, they just wanted 2 and 3 and beyond.

There may be something that comes up that tempts the trade of 2, I don't know. The link of Tauru is irrelevant because somebody might want to beat us to the punch. I would say watch the future picks more, other clubs have more stable lists than ours so may choose to defer. Just don't watch your PM's, that only serves to titillate you and not me :)

OK got it North will only trade pick #2 if its a way too good to refuse deal - :thumbsu:

I was thinking they want Tauru and just wanted something extra

Lets see what eventuates , But still love to know the top 3 picks you know as fact (if you can Pm)

between 7-9/10

It would not surprise me to see North really jump up next year
There is way too much talent on the list that is young and now have 2-3-4 years in the system that are ready
and with experience heads in the team things could change quickly. I very much doubt you are bottom 4 next year
“Liked” more for hope and optimism. I genuinely hope you are right THE_GUN
But a 100% improvement would be great for us. 300% would be sensational.

You would know better than me

How many games should North have won this year where they were up and threw away the lead ?
With another year into the kids and development and the 3 experienced heads coming into the team
Larkey getting some free space and decent ball use off half back

I’m gunna assume you’ve followed Richmond for a long time, given you joined BF in 2007. How many games for how many years did you stupidly throw away when seemingly being in a winnable position. We are jaded mate, takes it’s toll.
We have barley put 4 quarters together for years now. Confidence in climbing the ladder is about thought number 276B, we just want to see our players play 4 quarters on the regular.

I’ve got a drinking game I don’t really recommend, will send ya sideways quickly. But it’s also a way to reward yourself on a Friday night.
I’m just catching up on this thread and the draft rumours one…….hence why I’ve had a few back to back posts

So:
Step 1 - As a north supporter try and read the comments without looking at who is the poster.
Step 2 -After reading the post, try and immediaitely guess which club said poster supports
Step 3 -If correct on the club, reward yourself with a sip of the beverage of your choice
- WARNING, YOU WILL GET QUITE GOOD AT THIS GAME QUICKLY, SO GO SLOWLY ON THE SIPS. PAST PERFORMANCE IS IN FACT A GOOD INDICATOR OF FUTURE PERFORMANCE

Thats just my point
That happens to young teams without good leadership and less experience and diminish quickly when the team wins close games and gains confidence and becomes a snowball effect. There is absolutely no reason why North cant win another 5-6 games in 2025

But in saying that they certainly not helping the team selling games to WA

Reading this thread, it looks like neither fan base want a trade and we should go to the draft as-is.

-Richmond: don’t want to involve 6 and 10/11 - too high of a price to pay. Happy with Smilie/Langford type at 6.
-North: only trade up from 2 if it involves 6. Happy to take a midfielder at 2 and build off current clubs talls.

North will trade pick 2 us. It's in their best interest to, we in return will consider your offer

Eh? Our offer is pick 2.

Both St Kilda and Richmond have already made offers, of sorts, for this pick. Neither was compelling, but their supporters spent the day debating which was moreso.
No North will offer us good picks for taking 2 off their hands. I dont think you get it, North are the ones instigating the trade

I can tell you the top 4 will be the same across the comp, with Langford either 5th or higher
