Maybe Jack is being groomed as a HFF with bursts on the ball when we need it?

That some heavy lifting for a pure Mid.
Does he not remind those who saw him play of S Kekovich. Sam never had much of a tank although that was probably due to **** and beer ! Sam used to run through blokes like they were not there, was reasonable overhead but had presence. That is what JZ has. The other stuff is changeable but you cannnot train into anyone what he has naturally on the field.

Absolutely.

Jack is an impact footballer.

He can't be viewed in the generic midfield tense.

The boys just had their 2km time trial down at Lakeside Stadium Albert Park.

Sam Gibson a massive stand out blitzing the field in 5.58. Great effort getting under 6min.

Bastinac, Greenwood and Sierakowski the chasers.

Goldstein looked very fit and stong and impressed me alot.

Notible ones a long long way back. Adams, Cunnington and McMahon.

Big E (Eric) as they call him, was more like Eric the Eel jogging (nearly walking) in 9.13.
Unfortunately not up to the standard... which is prob what you would expect from a Basketball burst player.

Any other questions on players let me know.

Tiny's fentistec 14.23 us stull the rickord for the 150kg sicktion.

How'd Majak go? That's all I want to know. I don't mind him. Anyway, I'm assuming Gibbo's time is at altitude and so it doesn't count in my book.
Cunnington a long way back? That's a concern for all his parties. Is it too late to put him on our rookie list and then elevate him as a free agent at season's end?

You can't teach what Boomer has between his ears.

You are also not giving credit to the particular athleticism that Boomer possesses, which is not indicative in time trial performance. Boomer has the ability to produce repeat high level 40 metre sprints over a two hour period. He will never be a great 100 metre sprinter and he will never be a middle distance runner. Good thing he chose to play football, where the ability to run at top speed over short distances many times within a two hour window is far more beneficial than simply being a solid one-paced middle distance runner.

Boomers quick thinking, dummying and lateral movement is elite and as good as anything I have seen in all the years I have been watching footy.

This makes him quicker in a sense that no time watch can measure.

And being one sided and selling the same move for ~ 350 games makes it even more impressive.

Agree on the move but I reckon he kicks well on the left when he has to. He's not as ''one-sided'' as say Micky Martyn was. Even Schimma was a bit awkward on the left.

In Simmos last game he set up a couple of goals on his left with some nice clean passes.

2km is a sprint and not a true test of someone's staying capacity. Some players like Jobe Watson can run all day but would never win a 2km time trial. I would suspect Swallow, Cunnington and Zielbel will all be in this category. Its just the type of players they are. If the time trial was over 10km it might be a different story.

To be fair, Schimma was also awkward on his right.

Ever seen him bounce the ball. He threw it in front of him more in hope than expectation that it would return.:D

Magnificent player though. One of the best and bravest I've ever seen.

Much better player than a coach and MRP panelist.
