An under-discussed aspect of the game: Gee Melbourne supporters are a funny bunch. They genuinely seem to have trouble with the basics of the game, far beyond the usual "just kick the bloody thing" type callouts. A guy near me kept saying "who was that to?" frustratedly at increasingly strange times, like when Melbourne weren't even disposing of the ball. Eventually he even said it after a throw-in.

There was a group in front of me who were clearly not enjoying the day and left early in the last. I had forgotten what a pleasure it is when that happens.

And another W coach bites the dust. Not surprising after the Dogs’ season, but that’s three spots available now.

That's a shame. Nathan Burke seems to be a particularly shit coach - would have liked to see him nobble them for a little bit longer

Still with all our domination in that first quarter and a half we didn’t really put the score on the board. That’s been our Achilles heel for a long time.
Got to make it count as it cost us in our losses against the bris/adel losses

My thought when rewatching the game - and it's all speculation - was that too hard, too early, might have lead to a situation where either the pressure dropped off from our mob, or it compelled Melbourne to go just hard enough to get back in it. As noted by others, it didn't feel won until the third goal in the third - and part of that reasoning was if Melbourne were to come back, they had left their run too late.

I would think they'd have one on Saturday and one on Sunday and I could see them putting us on Sunday because our opponent will have had to travel and play in the heat the previous week. But I hope it's on Saturday

Yep, as opposed to the Adelaide success in 2017 which was built on years of hard work and building a list over multiple seasons.
