I hear what your saying and am fine with the premise but for 2 things

1: when we beat Richmond in 2022, the coverage had numerous shots of the girls as a group, supporting the fellas. I liked seeing and got a kick out seeing the joy on their faces when we kicked a goal etc. same with hood and the players in the race when we won.

2: I think you need to accept that aflw is in its infancy and highlighting the interest of legends of he game such as clarko. Or stars of the game such as sheez can only help promote its appeal. That does not dismiss the skill and courage of the female players imo.
Yeah Kearneys aunt sounds Ike a feminist flog

On the last play it looked supporters shouted out to Emma Kearney how long was left and she advised Emma King - ball was on opposite of ground from the bench

We have to strive to be one club.

The idea that we should draw lines on who should and shouldn’t be there based on gender is crazy.

It isn’t a gender thing, it’s a North Melbourne thing and if you're a North Melbourne person you should be there.

Has more of an impact forward than Martin does though I feel?

Tripodi showed a bit too at times, but probably less impactful/ goes missing
Not this year she hasn't. Has been average at best in her games. We look more dynamic in the forward line with Tripodi or Martin than with Gav out there this year. At this stage Martin for me in that role, just a little more physical than Trip.

Yeah it a very fine balance between trio who gets more touches but is much slower than Martin

There was a play yesterday where Niamh's ability to chase and keep pressure on Adelaide defender coming out of the backline led directly to a turnover.

Martin didn't even lay a finger on her, just was on her hammer so long the kick wasn't perfect and got chopped off.

Adelaide player quickly gets yards on Gav and hits her target though.

It’s not about that, though, it’s the (mainly media) issue of them celebrating the men’s program being there like that proves something about the value of the women’s program, or shows what great guys they are (like congratulating a dad for doing what mums do without being noticed).

To be honest - and even as a staunch feminist - I feel like it’s less of an issue now that it was when Emma’s aunt got feisty about it. Partly that’s the firmer foundations of the competition, and partly it’s that more clubs are genuinely breaking down barriers between the programs and the players and coaches work together and support each other when the cameras are not rolling.

As they say in the classics it happened right in front of me. Kearney ran to the boundary to ask how long was left, happily the info given (30 seconds) was roughly correct.

You really notice on the replays how much Martin is in frame and influencing the play even when the stats sound like she didn’t have much impact. Huge credit to her, and the coaches and teammates who’ve helped her with a role that suits her skills.

btw it was nice to see Vicki Wall post the same GF instagram image as the players yesterday.

Ha, thought I spotted you.

Does anybody know if there is any corporate events leading up to or on the day of the game?
It would seem like the perfect opportunity to put on something like a, oh I dunno, let's call it a North Melbourne Grand Final Breakfast. Wouldn't it?

Yes sure, it's a curiosity value but it shouldn't be the headline - we don't want to see a newspaper front page picture of Clarko in the stands at the grand final with a full description of his every movement and reaction throughout the game, and for the results and game report, go to page 37.

What is capacity of Ikon park?
Is game likely to sell out?
These are tough questions, since the answers probably depend on whether they'll open up the Gardiner Stand. I don't think they will (for supposed safety reasons), thereby keeping capacity pretty low, 12kish, which should sell out.

You're missing the point. The main story today is that WE are in a grand final this week. The story is not that Clarko went to a footy game over the weekend.

Btw we should definitely be putting up stuff (not unlike what we do at Marvel Stadium) on that big blue warehouse to cover up the Crap Football Club logo, and dare anybody to try to stop us.
