Good to Sammy back at the club.

Spoke to him last week. Said he was happy to be back in football after needing a long break after his playing career ended. Said he was burned out and didn't even want to play/be involved with local footy.

Thanks for the update. We don't realise the toll the games takes on players. Glad he took some time and I am happy and back at the club.

3 games at Arden st. All games bar 2 on a Sunday. Still no Melbourne @ home. Still yet to play a couple of teams at all. **** this shit.

Three games at Arden St is not enough.

I get the Tasmanian connection and in a 10 game season I get that has ramifications like this, but ugh. Feels like such a wasted opportunity.

I guess if we earn any home finals they'd be at Arden St though, surely.

Melbourne at Ikon Park >>> Adelaide in SA again (third-straight season).

Well let's see if the groundstaff can handle 3 games this time around, then we can maybe think about increasing that brutal load in future seasons.

Meanwhile, I put our family AFLW dates into the diary and realise Collingwood plays all but two of their 10 games in Melbourne. I should be used to it with the AFLM by now but the injustice still makes me feel ill.

Not the grand final though as that has been earmarked for Princes Park if a Melbourne club earns the right to host.

Geelong finished 7th last season, and we finished 4th, so naturally our draw is harder. That said we get to play Carlton, who is every chance of being worse than both Essendon and Hawthorn.

Arguably we have a harder draw than Melbourne though. It'll depend on how Brisbane manage after a few key departures. Possible they'll still be strong in QLD (where they host all other top 6 finishers except us) but drop off away from home (such as for their meeting with us in Tassie, where we remain undefeated).
