Lol. I missed this. Classic.

Make no mistake they've gone out of their way to recreate in the women's league the same entrenched attitudes to North Melbourne success. From the only team required to have a second state as its home ground and jumper to constant nonsense like this. Listening to commentators spend the whole game talking up opposition whilst we steamroll them is just the cost of doing business for North in these leagues.
I thought the commentators gave North a bit of positivity yesterday. It was with around 33 seconds to go in Q4, both of the commentators mentioned that North had played well.

Bold call from them.

Randall up forward, Garner and Riddell on the bench. No Bruton.

Eh. Hard to argue with any of the named midfielders and they probably didn't want to name 3 from the same club, but those 3 performances were really hard to separate. Absolutely monstered a pretty decent side on their home deck, and it would've been by a lot more had the forward entries been cleaner, and had our players held gettable marks and kicked gettable goals.

Media votes seem to be somewhat varied from coaches votes and seriously, the media selections don't pass the eye test. Is there some agenda at play or are they simply blind to royal blue and white?

Have we ever played the crows in Melbourne
Played and beat them in Tasmania in their down season too. Otherwise all away games. Not as skewed as the Melbourne fixture record of no home games, but doesn’t help.

As of today we have played:

ADELAIDE - 4 times, 2 at home and 2 away for 1 win and 3 losses. This season's game is away at Norwood Oval.
BRISBANE - 4 times, 2 at home and 2 away for 4 losses.
MELBOURNE - 6 times, 0 at home and 6 away (incl. a final) for 1 win and 5 losses. This season's game is away at Princes Park.

And of course, there is a strong chance we will play at least one of these teams in the finals.

Can't complain about the Adelaide and Brisbane fixturing, it's fair and equal, but we have been shafted big time with the Melbourne fixturing.

Across all three we’ve seen one game at Arden St in six/seven seasons. I know the Tasmania home thing is on us but wtf was the Avalon Airport Oval one?

I think we played at Avalon Airport Oval in our first season because Arden Street didn't have the facilities ready for women's football. But, don't quote me on that though. :)

Only 4 of the 16 matches (incl. the two upcoming) are home games, 1 at Avalon, 1 at Arden, 1 at North Hobart and 1 at Launceston. It does feel like the red-hot poker has been rammed firmly up our butts.

Sooner Tassie and TAS AFLW gets in the comp the better.

To balance that slightly, we played Brisbane in a home game for them at Footscray when all of QLD was under water. And we choked that day.
That was terrible.

Ash Riddell celebrates her 50th game this weekend.

Kate Shierlaw plays her 50th game this weekend as well, although it's only her 6th with North Melbourne.

Congratulations Kate

Kate and Ash make it 8 players to have reached either 50 AFLW games, 50 AFLW games for North Melbourne or both this season.
