Not sure if it was his first touch but he took a hanger in the goal square at the Punt Rd end of the ground in his first match. Went back and missed the goal from five metres out. The game ended in a draw.

Perfect!!! That was his entry into senior football - skinny as a rake, and took a mark worthy of Malcolm Blight. And then kicked a point from within the square. And yes, the game ended in a draw with Kennedy and Jeans respectfully acknowledging each other from their respective boxes.

And wearing No 48 too! (I actually met him a few years later at a club function, and of course had to ask him about it. I actually only mentioned the classic mark, but he ruefully mentioned the awry kick).

Haha, what's with the ball up at the 25 second mark? Ball was still bouncing around!

.... and where was the obvious free kick to Kym Hodegman a few seconds prior? He would have kicked at least a point from that proximinty. We were robbed!!! :eek:

I agree with you DR.
JB and Euge will do whats best for this club.

If Hardwick signs with the Tigers then I give it a day before Roo-Boy starts a "Make Brad Scott the North Melbourne coach in 2010" group on Facebook.

Hardwick - The Facts:

Rejected by his former club Essendon as a player & prospective coach.

Appointing him would be a BIG mistake imho.

Lets not make a media driven decision.

I wasn't aware of that - did he give any reason? And yes, he provided some incredible memories during his playing days - a tremendous player!

Forget Kingy? Never ....

- The final against Hawthorn at VFL Park where he ignited the team in the second half, and then took his kick perhaps a little too slowly at the end;
- The intentional takeout on Stuart Lowe at VFL Park, and the unintentional takeout on Craig O'Brien in 1996;
- Kicking a bag of goals in a finals thrashing against Essendon.

Great player ... as were those others you mentioned above.

great times hey,f**k we were tuff back then,no prick would have a crack at us in the 90's

plus we made players out of robert scott,allison,pykie,belly and of course frrrreeeeborn

Geez Kingy, those names and memories will soon bring a tear to my eye ...

- Pykie's huge run in that final, I think against Brisbane;
- Allison's 7 goals against Geelong in a final;
- Bell's general grit and never say die approach;
- Freeborn - well, if you can't guess it, you've never followed the Kangas!
