I presume you're referring to the bloke who made the report?
The net potentially will cast a little wider than that.

and the nfl will be better for the changes, assuming that they occur. too many mates of mates in the office and others with direct connectiosn to clubs.

As previously stated, Young's dad - Robert, is on the NFL's board of Directors. That's a fair direct connection... and it'll be a fair farce if he gets off.

What about the other side of the coin which gave rise to the appeal? Lets not look at this through rose coloured glasses. I’ve not yet seen the video, however, based on what I believe to be reliable information it is not conclusive. It’s not prudent to make a judgment then go-out, look for and collate ONLY the evidence to support that judgment.

While sitting on your throne of judgment consider this. The only 'fair farce' is when individuals abuse the power they’ve been entrusted with and the Tribunal acts as Kangaroo Court.

Regards

No rose colored glasses here mate. Just hate to see someone get their nosed spread over their face, taken to hospital and miss the next month of football, regardless of who was involved. This is the kind of thing this league needs to stamp out. Not sure any of the previous methods of stamping out this kind of behaviour has worked in the past.

Not sure how the tribunal has acted as a Kangaroo Court? They were presented with the evidence and acted. What was the "other" evidence not presented to the tribunal? Was there a second shooter on the grassy knoll that got to Sagey's nose before Young arrived at the scene???

Fair comment and I agree. It’s not the strategy I question but the process. Perhaps you or someone else can explain how it was proven on the balance of probabilities that it was an act of malicious intent that caused the injuries.

Or you suggesting every time a player sustains an injury during the course of a contact sport we forget about the presumption of innocence and meet out punishment accordingly

It already has been proven hasn't it? Hence the 5 week suspension. There was video evidence, sure neither of us have seen it, but perhaps it wasn't as inconclusive as some have made out.

I'm not suggesting anything of the sort, he was presumed innoncent but was found guilty.

Boof, how could this be the case when you are the camera man who films the Heidelberg games? You are lying through your teeth. Also to get on here and try to defend what he did, in which everyone unless your from "the den" believes he was guilty and deserves the 5, after only weeks ago ridiculing the actions of someone that head butted Murphy, one of your own, is a bit contradictive dont you think?

Bit harsh bro. It is a Mont video. I did not nor have I seen the incident. Heidelberg have not this year captured any of the games in entirety.

Word is the video cant be that good from Mont as camera man Ed is on holiday and they just got anyone to fill in with a handy cam.

But Boof as discussed on this thread back in round 5 when Carey decided to go after Santoro, we all commmented then that the process set a dangerous precedent, now this same process has come back to bite Heidelberg this time. I guess if you are on top of the ladder Carey wants you.

I guess you just have to bite the bullett, and say if the deed was done it was done and the time has to be paid. It will be hard to stop this process now it has happened twice, so I guess all clubs are on warning

What was the outcome of appeal Boof

If I may answer this question. My sources tell me that the NFL Appeals Board took a hard line with Youngy’s appeal. The 5 weeks still stands. However the Chairman of the Appeals Board, AFL Player Advocate Ian Findlay said that he did not see this appeal as frivolous and he will recommend that Heidelberg's bond be repaid.

I guess this serves as a notice to all Clubs in the Valley – be careful when Jarred Carey is watching one of your games or gets wind that that there might be a video of an incident circulating somewhere. I think Carey is trawling over some old videos on YouTube as I write this looking to see if he can find anything else.

On a side note, it has been bought to my attention that this was the first time that an appeal has been lodged since the inception of the NFL last year. Red faced and chasing their tails the NFL had to assemble an Appeals Board by this week. An Appeals Board was appointed for three years and now comprises of three solicitors, and Ian Findlay, Dan Casey and Craig Braddy. It should be pointed out that one of the solicitors appointed Tony Bowlen is actually a sponsor of Heidelberg Football Club. You would think of all the people the league could have appointed, they could have found someone not connected to Heidelberg.

All Heidelberg members are waiting to see your apology to Robert,an honourable and hard working voluntary Board member.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

It will be hard to stop this process now it has happened twice, so I guess all clubs are knownasthe STOP PRESS New rules to apply from next week. The DUCK (also known as the KING ) will watch videos of every match ,allow for all umpiring errors and amend the final scores accordingly

"All Heidelberg members"??? You are kidding yourself.

And what would the apolgogy be for exactly? I just stated he was on the board of the NFL. I said it would be a farce IF he got off. As suspected he didn't so that is that.

And as for Kym, sorry, the Boof. That video from all reports was a clear as the nose on Sagey's face.

As noted by Moderator Moose this is a public forum and subject to the laws of the land therefore we cannot provide a full and frank assessment of the circus that surrounds this event.
I defer to the Macquarie Dictionary:Farce - foolish show; mockery; a ridiculous sham>
Old habits die hard - all clubs watch your back, the DVFL is alive and well.

todays umpires o'keefe and black should be banned from umpiring and games ever again it was the most disgusting umpiring i have ever seen in that last quarter its a wonder that they both got off the ground alive as it looked like supporters from both clubs wanted to kill them o'keefe has always had it in for lalor he should only be allowed to umpire junior games maybe under 10s or something so that he cant influence a game i hope the nfl get a copy of todays game and have a look at the last quarter and see just how bad these umpires were today

Well your wish didn’t come true, according to umpires website, umpire o’keefe will be at Bundoora vs Eltham this week. I guess at least you will be happy that he is not at Lalor. However proves my point that just because a few fans thinks an umpire is crap (as seen through their one eye) good umpires will continue to umpire in ‘A’ Grade.

At The End Of The Day You Are Obviously One Of Those Umpires Trying To Defend Your TERRIBLE Performance Last Week.
As I Previously Stated Umpires Are Like Players They Will Have Bad Days It Is A Fact Of Life, However There Is A Difference Between A Bad Day And Flat Out Cheating.
We Move On And Hope Your Performances Improve

Devils Advocate - Agreed

tranquilli – Clearly your ‘reports’ and mine conflict. Whatever, it matters not now.

River/A&E – Be not too harsh. I’m confidant the ‘message’ has been received. Keep in mind the hardest thing to change in any organisation is its culture.

Tips for round 13

Bulls to knock Eltham out of the finals race by 24p
Heidelberg too big and classy for the improving Slime by 42p
Northcote Park over Creek who cares by enough
Lalor in a thriller over Mont by under a goal
North to get on a roll over west by 10 big ones(Harves a lazy dozen)

Cheers lads

The Nfl Is A Joke. 2 Players At My Club Have Been Elbowed In The Head In The Last 2 Weeks And Both Have Fractured Skulls, One In Particular Has Nerve Damage To The Face And It May Not Get Better (hes 24 And It Looks As If He Has Had A Stroke). My Club Didnt Get The Investagation Paper Work In By Tuesday 5pm. (6 Pm Tuesday Is Our Next Training And The Club Didnt Know The Extent Of The Injuries Until Then) So The Nfl Said Bad Luck. My Club Has Since Spoke To The Afl And If Still Nothing Has Happened It Think They Will Speak To Channel 9 And The Herald Sun.

And Yet Carey Goes To Games A Reprts Who He Wants When He Wants. They Are Trying To Be More Professional But Who Are They Kiding. Same Old Stuff Is Happening.

Thoughts Anyone

PS: ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE UMPIRE GAVE YELLOW CARDS
