A very worthy inclusion!! Geez imagine a midfield of Thomas, Aish, McIntosh and Gallagher running around now, would even give the Cats something to thinkabout

With the same conditions and fitness, a top SANFL team in the 1980s whould beat anything running around in the AFL today. Today's footy is garbage.

Aish, McIntosh, Gallagher and Thomas - all in Norwood's Team of The Century, and their best would be more than enough nowadays, I'm sure.

Three of these ex-greats have had their sons play for the club, at various levels, with only Jesse Aish having played League footy, thus far.

Some chance we'll have a Thomas and Aish in the same League side in 2009.

Definitely made hard work of it, but got the points to keep us in 4th spot.
Some of the worst kicking at goal you would see at SANFL level - and the field kicking wasn't much better.

Great to see that Phillips, Rowe, McGuinness (all 2 years), and Trotter (1), have all signed on for 2009 and beyond.

As in Kieran McGuiness?

As in Kieran McGuiness?
He is. And he, along with just one more mature true-KPP defender, and one more class midfielder, is about all that's required for us to recruit to turn this squad into a potentially premiership-winning one. If we can keep the rest of the existing group together.

Hopefully Nathan Bassett sees fit to play a couple of seasons for Norwood, after announcing his retirement from the AFL today.

I'm sure the temptation would have been even greater if Scott was still able to play.

To make finals Norwood need to just win one game or have either the eagles or port lost both games...Glenelg beating port will seal a finals berth as Eagles and Port play in rnd23

Well almost. A draw between Port and the Eagles would see us miss out.

Most unlikely, so finally we're finals bound.

We'll have to wait until Sunday, now.

At least this way, one of the sides will have their season extended by an extra day.

If we are going to do any damage in the finals we need to win this week and take some momentum and confidence into the Elimination Final

All things considered, it was a reasonable effort against the Minor Premiers, on their home deck.

Anyone's guess, at this stage, what the line-up will look like this Sunday, but only a win will do.

What a great gutsy win 2day against Port:thumbsu::) doesnt get any better:D
Final score:

Norwood 4.2 9.4 15.8 18.11 119
Port 3.3 7.5 11.7 15.8 98

Goals:
Norwood:
Walker 7, Bartamucci, Gallagher, Donohue 2, Speight, Littler, Phillips, Dawes, Cockshell
Port: Waterhouse 4, Hargraves 3, Looby 2, Clayton, Claton, Clinch, Elstone, Summerton, Thurgood

Poor finish to the season. Sturt far too good, and injuries didn't help our cause.

Probably the worst line-up we add all year.

Roll on 2009.

Kieran McGuinness and Gavin Hughes have signed for the next 2 years - KMac back from a year of travel overseas and Hughesie back after a stint as a rookie with the Western Bulldogs and a time out mid season.

Thats good news :thumbsu:

Well done to James Gallagher on winning the 2008 B&F.

Well deserved played well all year, congrats to Tim Weatherald getting third. I was not 100% convinced we should have picked him up but he has been awesome for us this year.
