It ain't over yet apparently ... (of course, this could be just idle media speculation :$ )

Novak Djokovic preparing to sue the Australian government for $6m over visa scandal

Novak Djokovic could be considering suing the Australian government for an eye-watering figure for “ill treatment”, according to a report from the UK.
The Sun is reporting that the Serbian tennis star - who was deported from Australia on the eve of the Australian Open in the wake of a week-long visa battle with authorities - is in talks with lawyers about suing the Australian government for more than $6 million.

It claims that the figure includes the total amount of Australian Open prize money that he could have claimed had he won the tournament.

Hahahahahahaha, this is awesome.

Something about "Couldnt win on the court now he wants to win in the court".

Any chance he had of being considered Rafa and Rogers equal or better is dead if he does this.

I hope he loses the case

I actually dont care if he wins or loses, i just hope he actually does it. Effectively if he proceeds with this he loses so much credibility in the public eye it really doesnt matter if he gets some coin, plus $6m for him is chump change.

If he was to proceed theres not a court in the world that would give him the prize money, no way to draw a direct parallel to that so even if he does win the amount would be way less than $6m

I hope he's aware that WHEN he loses the case it will cost him more than $6m in court fee's and further damage to brand Djokovic which means less money from sponsors

Honestly youd have to think this is just him "reviewing his options" surely he doesnt proceed.
I think they are "putting it out there" in the public sphere as an attempt to pressure the other grand slams to allow him some sort of bs exemption.

Desperately wants to get to 21.

This actually probably makes the most sense

With the new rules in France and with whats going on the US i can't see him playing them this year.
He might play Wimbledon, but he will be tested on a regular basis, and who knows how that will go.

He will bring tests from serbia

How would any of the other countries be sued for ill treatment over denial of a visa on public health grounds?

We at least put him in the maggot hotel and screwed him around for a week, so there's some question there of whether he might have been treated poorly as an illegal non-citizen, but the others haven't had a chance to treat him poorly yet.

Bring it on goose!

Yes... but, it's also getting a little sad.
Alright.

My shout everyone. 12 rounds of melancholy popcorn.

( I know Lake...it is. He is a thing alright.)

Aww, they kept him in a room for hours and wouldn't let him use his phone, I call that torture. Or a rich, privileged, entitled person would call that torture. He probably really believes it.
