Begley way to good for 3rd tier football will absolutely kill it in that division. Boronia going all out next year they want out of that division. Thing is there is no promotion next year
Just saw that Taylor Leggate has returned back to Wantirna South, huge for Wantirna as they made finals this season but big loss for Boronia. Gun player, but luckily the recruitment of Begley helps ease the blow

Things not looking good for Upper, really struggled this year and have lost a few already including Greg Lord who is off to Montrose. Upper are a great club so hoping they can pick up a few.

Very hard to recruit effectively without having a home.

Council have absolutely kicked the shit out of them.

Nick is a fantastic player and will again be at The Basin in 2023.
Doesn't look like it. Nick Hallo has signed with Mitcham, announced on their facebook page. Great pick up for them, big loss for The Basin.

Maybe the exodus is on at The Basin?

Surely both poitcally parties if they want to win should be making election promises here.
I love my footy but i doubt that's what voters will be swinging for in a seat the spreads from Narre Warren, Kilsyth, Wandin, Seville, Gembrook, Cockatoo, Monbulk, Nar Nar Goon, Mt Burnett, Belgrave, Lysterfield etc etc

RDCA cancelled the lower grades again and some of the top grades had to move grounds just to play.

Maybe starting the season a week later will become a discussion point for next season.
I believe Montrose and Mooroolbark had planned works on their grounds. Seville, St Andrews (JW Manson Reserve), Sth Warrandyte (Colman Park) and Wonga Park were the home grounds of the top grades that were weather affected.

From the conversations I've been hearing, I don't think starting the season later will be the discussion point, rather the question of why the association is abandoning games 70% of games instead of requesting clubs turn up to the ground and assessing whether conditions are suitable for play, and losing between 20-50% of games due to ground conditions.

It's a can of worms and people will complain whatever happens.

I remember a very wet season around 2011 where about 5-6 days were called off. People complained about having to go to grounds so then the next time the RDCA called it off at around 10 am in the morning and the predicted rain never came.

I think the majority of people deep down don't mind them calling it off early.

In BHRDCA teams were asked to turn up to grounds before a decision was made. Can't see the season being shortened, otherwise you'd have to change the number of teams in each grade so everyone plays each other once or twice a season. Unfair on some teams otherwise.

Big recruit for Kilsyth that has gone a little unnoticed - Ryan McNay from Lilydale. Fantastic footballer who will do very well in div 4 you would think.

Not sure whats going on mate, gunna be a long year I think

Only recruit I have seen is from a lower division and losing those 2 isnt good

Very young side with lots of talent but failed to gel as a unit this year

League haven’t said anything and actually still have Glen Waverley in D4 next year.

But the coach (who had re-signed for 2023) has been announced as an assistant at Oakleigh Districts. So you’d think the writing is on the wall for GW.

There are seriously some delusional people at Glen Waverley in regards to what they think their club will be like in 2023.

They sacked the coach a while ago as they believed he didn't support the board enough in regards to the video incident. So all those players they recruited from the ammos this season are gone.

They sack their most popular and probably best player who had been there for life. So a large amount of their long term players are gone.

Committee members have also walked out.

However the club believes they will have to be a "Nunawading" next year and then just bounce back.. this is from a club that already had to forfeit multiple games this season due to lack of players. Losing 6 players was going to be catastrophic for Glen Waverley, they are losing 30+.

I dont think a club like GW have the history or culture to survive.

Hearing Norwood forward Lachie Kennedy to FTG. He is a former FTG junior returning.

I wonder if they will land this one or could it be another Alex Barton-Smith?

Wonder how many will follow Gatehouse to Oakleigh. He must have been very popular at St Mary’s to attract so many to go with him to Glen Waverley. Can Glen Waverley really hope to regroup on Div 4. Had no 19s and I believe a number of their successful 17s are bailing. Do I know you Adock.

I’m not sure those at the top had any choice whatsoever in how things went. The council made the moves and the calls - as councils do these l days - and they were told in no uncertain terms they wouldn’t be playing in 2023 without a number of things happening (like sacking any players involved).

Others in the club didn’t take too kindly to that.

What can you do? President etc are caught in the middle. Wind your club up or probably have everybody walk out and it dies anyway.
