Interesting situation involving Darcy Carrigan and South Croydon. I'm told he was announced as a signing in one of the speeches during the night and was in attendance as his partner plays in the girls team there.

However Coldstream believe he has committed to them. Would be a huge loss. Is the best player in div 3 easily.

Hearing Kurt Lopo could be on the move. Played at Edi-Asp in the Mpnfl this year who finished last and got relegated to div 2. Could be back at Eastern or the dolphins in the vfl. He is a jet

Troy Swainston moving on. Has done a pretty good job over an extremely challenging period for the league (despite my whining).

How much is hamstrung by AFL Victoria?

Cliff for new CEO of EFL?
Would have had my vote until you mentioned all clubs must field netball sides.

The EFL? I don't know anything about soccer, although I have watched Ted Lasso!

The grapevine suggests an exodus from The Basin with the former coach taking a good number of them with him. Who knows how true it is.
Will be a few players going with Justin to Nar Nar Goon but not an ‘exodus’. With a strong list and good depth, combined with the premiership winning under 19 team, the club is in a good place going forward and the excellent new senior coach coming on board in Jason Wade.

Typical reply I would expect from someone manoeuvring for a CEO role. 😜

Suddenly huge on the N.
So you have seen Ted Lasso. I can see why you are huge on the N, now that Nathan has gone bad (straight from the wrestling playbook, eh). Can't wait for Series 3. Best sports related show I have ever seen, by a country mile.

Slight tangent from EFNL but we share the same grounds.

You've got to wonder what we're actually paying our local councils for. BHRDCA, ECA and FTGDCA have all called off Round 1 due to the state of grounds. Most grounds haven't been used by footy for over a month, and while it was a wetter than average winter, we've had a drier than usual September. So how are there so many grounds unplayable that these decisions are being made association wide by Wednesday? Are they seriously that poorly maintained by council?

It has been dry but it has also been very cold. Kudos to the city of Maroondah and the RDCA who seem to be pushing on with starting this Saturday.

RDCA only playing in the top grade with seniors at this stage. Some of the lower grades in all competitions are at times played on sub standard grounds and school grounds.Plenty of work being done on Walker Park right now and hopefully it will looking great late October for cricket.East Burwood I have been told also has had new grass put on it at the northern end which was a problem late in the season.Vermont also has had work done on it and ground has been closed for 2 weeks.

Will be the second time in recent seasons they RDCA will only start the premier grades week 1 due to substandard grounds.

I don't think it's unfair to say that Maroondah and Yarra Ranges have both shown that if the council invests in proper drainage for their grounds then the cooler weather is not an issue.

Hearing from a usually solid source that Alex Barton-Smith winner of Mitchams B&F is heading back to Ferntree Gully.

Think there may be a couple more heading elsewhere including Ferntree Gully who are being quite aggressive in trying to recruit 'home grown' talent back to the club.
Its understandable considering 7 ex FTG played in the Mitcham 1's preliminary final loss this year. Also the Mitcham vice captain has departed already as per their facebook page.

However I had heard that Nick Hallo from The Basin was heading to Mitcham to join his brother so may not be all bad for them. Saw him play a couple of finals this year, he is a star.
