Is Macreadie able to play for Rosedale? Could make a difference if he was.
Has he played 3 games? I think that's the rule in North Gippy.

What about the 2s and 3s (umpires)?
I'll be pretty pissed if I've missed out again this year

Be good to see the swingers get up.The "home of the 2001 NGFL premiers"slogan on the entrance sign on the way in was starting to look a bit sad .Sale City are going to be hard to toss though but the heavy ground might slow them down a bit. Interesting to see whether Shoey has a big one ,the last GF he was involved in with the maggies in 2007 was not a good day for him.
While i ultimately don't give a toss about who wins on Saturday, if i had a preference i'd go for Sale City, just for how far they've come since 2001. Sale City's last flag was in 1993, when they beat Gormy in a close but extremely spiteful game, played at Sale City. They fell away pretty quickly after winning the flag, and have battled since however. Does anyone remember the Ashby brothers that played in their Premiership side? They were guns. I think John kicked a ton in the Premiership year. No idea where he went to though, but they were both stars.
But i digress. I don't reckon many people appreciate the plight of Sale City in 2001. They were basically dead and buried. Pretty fair effort to resurrect the club, and potentially win a flag within a decade. Can you imagine the amount of work involved if you tried to do it at Nambrok or Newry? Probably different scenarios, but you get the picture.
It also fascinates me how a Club responds after winning a flag. It seems in local footy, that often after winning a flag, everyone runs for the hills, examples being Rosedale in 2001, TTU in 2004, and Cowwarr in 2006. TTU and Cowwarr have both drifted aimlessly since winning the flag. Not sure if it's better to win a flag and bottom out for 5 years, or be competitive and play finals but not win a flag, like Gormy.
If Rosedale won, i don't think their would be a mass exodus, as so many of their players have come through their Juniors.. I don't know enough about the Sale City players to predict what would happen if they win, but hope for their sake that it doesn't set them back 10 years, like it has for TTU and Cowwarr.
I think there will be a mass exodus if they (Sale City) do win.
It is a remarkable effort for a club to be in that position and be where they are today, what they had going for them mainly was their vicinity (Sale) which attracts players straight away because of travel issues at Sale Football Club.
I admit though that they now have the world at there feet and really should be the powerhouse club for years to come. Kudos to the administration who have done a terrific job they have also set up one of the strongest Junior set ups in the district which has seen them rise in senior ranks too.
My Dad is very proud of where they have got to as of today. Himself as a past player, president and coach of the club was saddened when they originally went into recess, and felt they would never come back.
My only gripe with them is that they have been so cocky for years about where they are and how many premierships they will win to no avail, I remember when we lost to them three years ago we all went in to there club rooms (as you do) to have a socialise and seriously they gave a half an hour speech about the game and how good every player was and the new dynasty that was coming through. It was a disgrace to have twenty Heyfield people in there clubrooms and for them to carry on like that, needless to say we belted them by a 100 points next time which was classic and surprise surprise there was not one Sale City person that came into our rooms.
