Sale City are still obviously the stand out side on paper.

Rosedale seem to have a lost a few and this year will show exactly what influence Damian Birss had on the group. Gormandale will be thereabouts again, they have great depth to support there core group.

Glengarry rely alot on King and May and really need injry interrupted years or some more quality recruits to finish any higher than what they did last year.

Churchill, well you know more than me but losing Leigh and the others that have left the club over the last two years will be a big loss.

Heyfield are still an unknown, but with the appointment of Cox and the renewed enthusiasm and age in the group will look at improving on last year.

Haven't heard mcuh about Cowwarr seem to have kept their list intact.

Tyers have picked up Tim Aitken and will be hoping that he brings a few players with him to make a move up the ladder.

Woodside are struggling, not sure of any pick ups but it seems that Damien Kerr leaving will see alot of the talent go with him.

Boisdale are in big trouble, not sure of there coach or any potential players. I hear that some players are defecting to Maffra.

Stratford will look to improve and this year could be there best shot at the league, if they can get the players that have played at Stratford previously back that are rumoured and the young kids continue to improve they won't finish last.
Gormandale putting a power of work (and kanga) into Haydn Burgiel at the minute... They are more than happy that Coxy is coaching Heyfield as they thought Heyfield were their main rival in regards to getting Haydn... Might be rubbish though as they have offered him a fair bit in the past for no response...

Rubbish IMO - I believe "H" is focussed on playing 200 games for the Eagles; sitting on 185.

Yeah not too sure Hayden would play at Gormandale, as Samebi said I think the games milestones is a huge incentive and motivation for both Burgiels.

Nugget ,heard a strong rumor that Wayne Knight ("wink") from Heyfield is going to have a crack in the GFL with Maffra next season .Any truth in that ? How do you reckon he'd go?

Surprising considering everytime I saw him last year he was running around for heyfields reserves! Is very quick and can play however when he puts his mind to it

Not too sure, I hope he doesn't leave but he would be an exciting player at Maffra. I personally haven't spoken to him, I have herad so many rumours regarding him it isn't funny.

I know he is playing some football up in Ballarat at the moment. Wink wanted to play seconds last year due to his own personal reasons, the club had no issue with that. I just hope he sticks around because he is a good fella and very much loved at Heyfield!!!

Heard rumour that Lindenow are throwing some cash around and aiming at Wink among others at Heyfield... He would dominate the EGFL if he went there... Not sure who the others are... Story goes they are young blokes perhaps getting a bit ahead of themselves and looking for a pretty penny...

Fair point... Gormandale are certainly keen to splash the cash though and land a big fish... Didn't work with Hazelman (by only 3 points mind you), but they are adamant they are close to a flag with this current crop and need a big name to get them over the line...

Paul Henry to coach Gormy. Probably not the big name they were hoping for, but will certainly have the respect of all the players, the way he's come back from his motorbike accident. I'm assuming he will be a playing coach, which will make things interesting, given that he floated between the 1's and the 2's last season.

Heard it came down to Paul or Luke Hegarty. Both from within the club so mustn't have been able to entice any worthwhile candidates from elsewhere. Still Paul should do a good job and from the Blokes ive spoken to from out there they seem to be happy with the appointment.

So that is every team with a coach bar Boisdale..
Sale City - Nick Hider
Rosedale - Brad Caldwell
Gormandale - Paul Henry
Glengarry - Josh King
Churchill - Tim Darby
Heyfield - Adrian Cox
Cowwarr - Cory Bannister
Woodside - Anthony Pavey
TTU - Tim Aitken
Boisdale - ??
Stratford - Peter Morrison

Any rumours on player movements? Hearing of Hawking playing at TTU and that they are also targeting alot of Traralgon's younger players, hearing that City have picked up a key forward too.

I reckon TTU will be the Sale City of 2011 - by that i mean come from mediocrity to be top 3. Aitken as Coach is a good appointment, plus Hawking and 2 of Veg Graham's offspring - theres 4 pretty handy players to start with, plus a few more to come (allegedly).

Which of the Graham boys are playing with TTU ?

They could be Pumpter.

If TTU can pick up some more quality midfielders to strengthen their potent forward line well then who knows how far they can go?? They will obviously be very dangerous this year with a forward line like that.

Sale City have a supreme midfield and are versatile up forward any number of Hider, Schuback, Mclay, Tollner, Milham, Brayshaw are good enough to be rotated through the midfield and up forward and I still believe that you need to have the gun midfielders to match it with them.

Ruckman who has played seniors for traralgon the last couple of years. Played with Josh King in SA also if memory serves me correctly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That is a good get, will add to Glengarry, that means it can free up Piper up forward and they can also use Eagle in a few positions.

Not sure of the legitimacy of the claim he was going to glengarry but make of it what you will. However if he is leaving it would seem to add to the number of players leaving the gippsland league for minor leagues in the area. Perhaps because of the addition of bairnsdale and the extra travel involved? Or am I reading too much into it?

sorry mate, ryan potter played half back/back pocket all year, he'd be 6ft 2 tops, not sure were you got the ruckman bit from, but very handy player

Hahaha my bad i dont know where i got that from I was sure id heard that he was a big bloke.
Like i said the story about him going to glengarry is just a rumour. I also heard on the weekend that he was going to go back to SA for family reasons so who knows

I know it's early, but i'm even more convinced it will be a TTU/Sale City GF. The arsenal of recruits that TTU are stockpiling is impressive. Wouldn't mind auditing their books after all the contracts are signed though.
