Well well well how interesting

The Morton saga appears to be a well placed troll by Chook in Perth (Demonolgy / Demonland)

Papers ran with it and it grew legs

Shows the journos up for what hacks they are......

Morton is a whipping boy at the club from the fans perspective, so I can imagine he might be pretty keen to get out of here, although I'm not sure if that will change at any other club. If we can somehow get pick 44 I'd be happy with a trade.

We just lost Swift; the fans will want a new whipping boy. He wouldn't enjoy the reception methinks.

Actually - it would help having an experienced head at the club. But without knees it will be interesting.

Aw, they got me all hyped...

This trade period needs to end before crazy Neeld trades away all our talent for pedobear and a packet of chips. It blows my mind that we have to use a pick like pick 20 for Dawes and GC are able to secure a gun like Broughton for a second round pick.

KPPs = overs are always paid.

Broughton = not a gun.

Interesting one with Rodan,

He has frustrated a lot of Port supporters with only being able to show 1-2 QTR's of Football a game.

He goes quiet, alot. Like, a hell of a lot.

A lot of Port supporters wanted to keep him, for the SUB Role. He is the perfect sub.

Still has the ability to get through any pack, and break through lines. Use him as a sub, and he is a pretty decent pick up.

One of the best guys you will ever meet aswell, friends with David and stoked to see him given another shot. All the best guys.

Rodan...hmm not sure what to make of it!

Do not rate. Exciting player, breaks lines, but surely not the type of overall footballer we are looking for. Including his previous clubs - hardly successful organisations with good culture.

Still, if they think he can bring something, I guess it doesn't cost much.

Did they bother to stop and think, that it might actually be true? would be even more hilarious..

I wonder if this is how the sub will develop. Rather than just getting that player to fill the extra spot on the list. Players with good burst and small tanks could become more and more common to play as a sub week in week out.

Think its difficult to manage their fitness in this type of role I guess.

David was happy being sub, but definitely thought he had more to offer than just that role.

I'm sure Rodan has a role to play - specialist sub!

And also best dancer for the Footy Show Revue to go alongside our Mark of the Year trophy.

I was at the 2006 Draft and I, like everyone there, was dumbfounded by David Rodan being picked up by Port, I'm feeling slightly less dumbfounded but he might use the sub rule to good effect...

Yeah lets sign a guy who got delisted by the club with the very worst list in the AFL. Well played again Melbourne

Your posts are so far wide of the mark it's not even funny. You embody the typical supporter who thinks our list is full of talent and that anyone we get is not.

Your discussion above about Neeld trading away our "talent" for peanuts is stupidity at it's best. Where is this talent? Is it that talent that has seen us down in the bottom half of the ladder for more than half a decade? We pick up a premiership forward who we wanted badly and paid slightly overs for because he was contracted. I'd love to see who you believe this "talent" is because, outside of a few, we have very little of it on our list. There is a reason why Bailey failed so badly and Neeld now has to clean up his mess.

Rodan for nothing to be a pinch hitter or to play a few games here and there is painless, regardless of who he played for.

Done Deal from Rodan via Sellar's Twitter:

“@DROD_00: nek minnit ...im a demon. Can't wait to get started #bringon2013 #thirdtimelucky #carnthedees!” Look forward to training with ya!

Are we really going to give a pick up for Rodan? He was delisted FFS, just pick him up in the delisted free agents draft, no one else will.

I certainly don't think our list is full of talent, in fact i think it's pretty damn awful. Rodan for nothing is a pretty meh deal since he's 29 and after multiple knee recos is well past his best. I mean it won't add a lot and he'll retire in a few years so whatever. As for talking about trading away our talent i was talking about Gysberts and Martin. I mean trading away a 21 year old first round pick who still has the potential to be an A grade mid for Pederson is absolute lunacy. Especially when you consider all of our talls, and utility talls we already have and our lack of star power and depth through the midfield. Obviously it's not done yet but i will be raging if that deal goes through. With Dawes, i was mainly comparing the deal to the Broughton trade because i believe a player like Broughton would've add alot to our mids/defence, and GC got him extremely cheaply where as we have paid overs for every trade so far.
