Annnnndddd what a way to end it.

Excuse me whilst I go and vomit blood for the rest of the afternoon.

I love this competition - passion unmatched by any other tipping comp on earth.

It simply would not be Thursday Night Football if my opponent and me were not tied at exactly 1 pt.

Pretty cool requirement this ND comp has for me. ;)

I'm glad I learnt my lesson from last week and reverted to my policy of minimum points on the Thursday night game.
It's a division game as well.

That and they are both atrocious.

manureid had Indy in Survivor but had 1CR on Houston. and had Indy in HS
That was based on luck playing...and i late shifted to texans when he was out..and completely forgot i had them in those comps as well!! Lol

How many of us did it when we saw Luck was out?? Forgetting how hopeless the Texans are....
Luckless colts not great either. But 1cr was all the confidence i had in the texans.

As PhiilyRoo has no intention of participating (not responding to my emails/ PM's :() in order to keep the competitiveness going without having a weak link in the process for much of the year

Shit, I think I'm on borrowed time.

I knew Luck was out, but still trust a backup QB who has been is hospital more then i trust the Texans. Hell i think i trust the Browns and Washington more then the Texans.

But it was more that i trust Gore more then Foster and thought it would be like 25 runs each

See, I went the opposite way. Thursday night, at home, with a (supposedly) superior running game is usually a good recipe on Thursday night; given I thought the difference was pretty marginal even before Luck was out, I thought the Texans were a pretty good thing!

I won't be making that mistake again. Hacks.

Had a good feeling about the Texans this week. Thought this was the prime game for Watt to come out of his slumber, but he stayed in hibernation.

You assume JJ gives a shit. He doesn't.

********************* AE / ND ANNOUNCEMENT*************************

As PhiilyRoo has no intention of participating (not responding to my emails/ PM's :() in order to keep the competitiveness going without having a weak link in the process for much of the year, that not only compromises but also disadvantages many who are competing against Philly's opponents in the MOOSE division to compete in the ND play-offs. I've allowed PB74 to bring in his long time friend, Craig, to fill in. There is three comps still to stay competitive in, so I've given the GREEN LIGHT to Craig to join us. He has submitted his selections under Phillyroo's name for this week but when he returns from a quick break next week, I'll adjust the schedule 'detail' to have his name on the AE listings.

***************************************************************************

In the meantime, mcgarnacle will need to dig deep to EARN his ND second victory this week.

Please note that JD is aware of the selections I've forwarded on to him via PB74. Will update the selections chart upon his return from work.

Im probably out of ND race at 1-3, but doesnt this make it a clear advantage that got the free W against PR in the first 4 weeks? Especially with 2 of those being Division wins?

Imo, getting someone in now to take over, only 5 weeks gone of the season, is better than another 12 weeks of non-activity. The person taking over already out of a few comps, and fighting uphill, but it's better. And they could still maybe win a comp.

But strictly in terms of ND itself....i've always thought that we should just let a no-show's score still count in ND, like if their defaulted score still managed to beat someone, then so be it...shame on the other person for losing to a defaulted score, don't "deserve" a win.....currently woodson has it that a no-show automatically forfeits their ND game. I reckon no.

No matter how you shake it out some people are getting "screwed". Even if we didn't bring anyone in, what about the other people in the conference who never get a chance to "play" Phillyroo? That is a huge "disadvantage" to those folks--especially when it comes to who gets in on wildcards.

I am okay with someone coming in and taking over---I would just look at it like you were playing a team with their qb out for a few weeks. Those that did, got lucky--those that have to face him when he comes back, well that is how it shakes out.

Not always WHO you play...but WHEN you play them.

For whatever it's worth the thought to bring someone in rather than have Phillyroo be a dead stick gets a thumbs up from me.

I totally agree with what they are doing bring in another player to take over. I don't see he difference in this or if PR decided Hey I'm going to start tipping now.
Tho I don't understand why someone would pay up and just be a no show. I hope he banned from future years

HOT STREAK UPDATE

Streaks of note following Colts-Texans TNF

manureid tipped IND moving his streak to 9 to be 2 behind the current best streak of 11.

tomatosauceling sees his best streak of 8 end as he incorrectly added the Texans to his streak as did balmainforever who saw his best streak of 7 end.

AmericanCrow has an active streak of 10 which he could extend to the overall lead with results going his way, as could four others on 9 (Smiths, Swannies, Bucketss and Aussiedude)

FWIW.. that was the case a few years ago (2012 & 2013). Oscarman, as we all know.. is a committed member of AE and having the BAD LUCK, of having a 'NO SHOW' outscore him on TWO OCCASSIONS IIRC (5-6 record in 2013, 7-5 record in 2012) based on the 'road teams/ default list' options we implemented was the REASON WHY the no-show is now (2014 & 2015) denied of victory HOWEVER in saying that.. the person who makes the effort needs to outscore their opponent. That's why if two no-shows go h2h that no victory is awarded under last years change. Phillyroo reminds me of my five year old niece.. she LOVES the whole concept of pizza, the presentation.. the set-up… (like AE) but when it comes down to getting it down, bite by bite.. selection by selection on a weekly basis… she just makes a complete mess of it.. Phillyroo apparently too distracted with everyday life with his new bub / moving house and perhaps his beloved Kangas on the crusp of AFL success, to even think NFL has already started. Oscarman returned this season perhaps on the basis that we made such neccassary amendments to ND… still need to outscore your NO show to earn ND victory… which is fair for all concerned.

Blacky, don't sell yourself so short. You do know Quin Stick started 0-2 in his rookie season of 2013 and still won it all (going all the way undefeated). Chism has finished 7-5 on two occasions and still managed to scrounge his way thru the challenges of making it to the CC. Here's a classic example of dramatic fight backs.. LAST season in particular: manureid started well (2-0) then didn't win another match up until Week 7!! (ironically against GeeCats07) to be in a 2-3-1 hole after six didn't faze Manureid considering that he had already beaten Division leader Twarby (4-2) in the season opener and had another three more Division match ups awaiting in the second half of the season. Manureid won the the Troy Polamalu division with a 7-4-1 record, having the best (4-1) division record. Blacky is already 0-1 atm in the Bambi division BUT this week's match up vs Juggalo Balla is crucial in staying in touch with the front runners.. with Jugs taking Houston 1CR.. it's in your hands now (indy 8CR) to steady the ship and get back to 2-2 meanwhile keeping an eye on the front runners - Starlin Castro vs Gengar match up who are both the one's to beat when your moment arrives later in the season. Schedule shaped for Blacky to make a big run. ;)
