Macca69 has his phantom draft on the D&T Board. Remember him from last year and seems to know his onions. Has us taking Gumby,Chris Schmidt and Moss with our first 3 picks. Could live with that. Getting a key forward, hard runner and ball magnet would be good.

That would be an absolutely AWESOME draft.

Moss is seriously so much like Swallow in last years draft its not funny, could go top 10, but will slide, for the same reasons as Swallow, just as good a player too.

I like this one from the D&T board. No idea if it's good news, but the thorough recruiting process is what I appreciate.

i know for a fact about the kangaroos being interested in both.. probably because of thier local coach being brothers with Shannon Grant.

This is an interesting quote re Moss from a Docker supporter in one of the threads on the D&T board

If we draft Moss i hope Fremantle has sent him for bone scans or done body measurements. If he is unlikely to grow at all, steer clear, if he's got 4-5cm left in him, he would be a great pick.

Just heard news that Joel Perry is unhappy with a one year deal. I'm shattered to hear the news coz hes gonna be a gun, BUT, imagine what we could get for him being so young and all. People are also looking for young, key backmen.

Who dyou think we could recieve for Perry?

Isnt his contract up?

If so, then we get nothing, and we can just redraft the bugger through the pre-season draft.

Perry will become a handy player, but he is hardly Mick Martyn. He still needs to get some size on him. Getting Urch, Grima and Trotter up and firing is more important to our immediate needs.

Youd be EXTREMELY surprised how big he is.

Hes 196 cm's and 100kg's, so 6"5 and a bit, and the tonne.

Compare him to Jon Hay, Pez is 2cms bigger, and has 7kg's on him.

Or Darren Glass, 192cm's and 93 kg's.

Pez is a big unit, its just alot of people havnt seen enough of him

Glass took a long time to really hit his straps.
And who wouldn't say Perry was better developed at a similar stage than Lewis Roberts-Thomson, who then played well in a grand final.
Just play him at FB.

I have watched quite a bit of him and he looks to be a limited negating type player that isn't overly blessed with pace, strength or overhead marking ability. He will become a full back or nothing. Needs some size before he is ready to hold down that position against some of the big forwards. I don't think the club is being unreasonable in giving him a one year contract to finally show his wares as long as the club garauntees to give the lad plenty of senior game time to prove himself.

If Hay comes good then Perry will struggle for a position and he should be given a choice to fulfill his potential elsewhere by being preferably traded. He definately won't be putting Petrie or Watt out of the side.

Oh did ya - what's your source?

Would be staggered if they let Perry go, although the signs were there with his lack of opportunity this year. Seems the club doesn't particularly rate him. I just have the feeling that we will regret letting him go (if we do).

Used 2 play with Richard Knight, what was his form like with the Jets. Good kid that has some height.

does any1 know if we are some sort of chance to get bryce gibbs seeing maybe carlton will be looking for a big and essendon maybe willing to trade..doubt essendon will but you never know with sheedy to get a ready made player..anyway so do we have a chance to get gibbs or not?

Gibbs very very likely going 1. If not, definitely number 2. What's the difference if Essendon trade their pick? The team that gets their pick will take Gibbs. It makes no difference to us whether Essendon trade their pick unless they are trading it to us.

I wonder where that puts Josh kennedy?

Mind boggling. I think your "reliable source" is in fact a "reliable source" for mind altering substances.

Perry isn't Bruce Doull, but he will be a solid defender rarely beaten who can use the footy. FFS, he did that this year!!! Did get beaten once? At all? 4 years into a bottom aged KPD who performed as required in his AFL games this year and was a good VFL performer is not and should never be trade bait unless he wants to leave or a club has offered far above his market value. Done. Simple.
