Gotta wonder with Seaby not passing the medical though... Surely it's not some short term issue, otherwise wouldn't port take that into account?

Perhaps. It could have been very minor and they are just using it as an excuse? Either way Seaby will be on our list next year as he is still contracted.

Adelaide or Port wouldn't want to trade for Sumner as it would require a senior list spot. Knowing he'll be delisted, they know they can probably grab him in the rookie draft, therefore he has no trade value as they wouldn't want to waste a list spot on a kid with commitment issues.

Would love to get Macaffer and if we have to trade Currie so be it. With Pick 35 though, we should draft Waylon Manson. KPF with huge amounts of potential.

Just called up TWR as Thomas from Sydney and they thought the Johnston trade was a win.

Pity about what they said about Macaffer though.

Bradshaw, Ball, Houli, and others all say hi.

He's uncontracted so there's not much the Saints can really do, and we have the room to pay massive overs for him in 2012, then small salary the years after to accomodate Reid.

Your forgetting that Walsh is an in demand, young KPF. Unless we put a high price on him (as your suggesting), you really don't think Melbourne and Richmond (who both displayed an interest in him earlier in the week) wouldn't nab him? Then again, there are a few clubs who have room to move in the SC...

Maybe I'm just cautious, but If I was him, I'd either ask to get traded or stick with the Saints.

Walsh is on a rookie salary and with the saints salary cap problems they can't afford to offer him what we can, so if Pelchen doesn't want to deal with us we should put a price on him (massive overs 1st year like stat said) use pick 35 in the draft and dare other clubs to match the pick and salary for a player who wants to be at our club.

Melbourne were probably our main threat to get Walsh but they broke the bank to get Clark so I think we can rule them out.

You're forgetting that Saints are breaking the bank at the moment holding all their players on the list, that Melbourne paid massive overs for Clark, and that we have a lot of salary cap room with Bradshaw and Bolton's retirements.

What about GWS? They seem like the elephant in the room regarding picking welsh during the draft

Good point, I'm not totally sure but I think they traded all their mid range picks and their last pick before our pick 35 is 14, but if they draft Walsh wouldn't that count as their uncontracted signing and they wouldn't be able to poach Goddard without the saints permission?

I've googled this story and can't find anything about it, henceforth I dont believe it is true. There was a rumour but no name mentioned. Surely if someone was to release that story, they would have a name.

Youre probably right I found it too it said young Swan recruit injured shoulder in Thailand and will miss 2012, if they know the extent of the injury they would know his name
