On other matters, and this is directed your way EB, today was a good example of why I don't get to too many Greta games.

Every time I go out there it pisses down rain!:mad::mad: First time I head to Greta this year, first wet game. Coincidence? I don't think so...

Oh and their performance was pretty woeful as well;)

They did let me sit on their bench though, so I managed to stay pretty dry:thumbsu:

Yeah GO, Bully is another one who could easily slot in, but as you can see there are a lot of very good mids in the side I've listed.

It was really a toss up between Ryan Kent and Bull, and I just think Kent has a few more strings to his bow.

Having said that Bull could well go on and win the Baker Medal if he keeps up his form, but as I said in an earlier post, I don't think anyone from Benalla will win it because I think they have had a very even contribution across the board.

As I said guys it's really hard picking a team from from 300 plus players without being paroachial....

KV took it right up to us today. lots of rain and shitty conditions were a real leveller. Thought Sesho went ok in the game, spent some time on the ball too. Hunter was great all day around the ground, Simmonds was good in the forward line as well and Evo...was Evo. All in all a great day and footy was the winner. Thanks to the KV boys for hanging around as well.

Another really hard fought contest......Only this week,no reports and definately not a CHOIR BOY in sight......;););)

Looking at the scores, was it a case of lake Greta.....

Certainly was slim. Water was at least an inch deep across most of the ground, deeper around the boundaries. The only saving grace was there was next to no mud.

Nonch I just spent my $1.10 and found your description and sub headings in relation to the Greta - Tarra game to be "soggy" at best ::p:p.....I bet they would have kicked you out of the box if they knew what you were going to write.:D:eek:...I would fully expect TGN, Pliz, NBM and EB to pay a visit...;)

Your right on the money Slim, the headlines were 'soggy at best' although i could have thought of some headlines that perhaps might have better desctibed how we played.... 'Shit house weather matches Greta's performance".

The conditions were terrible with at least an inch of water on the surface of the ground as shown in the pics in todays rag, Tarra certainly showed us the way to play in the wet.

Cam Kennedy, Chopper and Clayton Hynes handled the ball better than any of the navy blue boys and they were the difference. Our inability to steady and look for an option down the ground hurt us, despite the conditions Tarra were able to hit a few targets across half forward when given space and this is where we fell down among other areas.

Like the coach said, at least there is next week and we can still aim for 5th spot and an elimanation final against Nth Wang or the valley

If it's any consolation NBM our ground also had pools of water laying on it, which doesn't happen often.....Did Nth Wang or Glenrowan play at home...

Unfortunately 'Blues given a bath by brutal Bulldogs' didn't quite fit...

I liked the photo of Jamie Bell taking the throw in on his knees - couldn't figure out whether he was just giving Shaker an easy one or if it was a tactical move considering the ball was coming in at chest height a lot of the time:D

Sun came out in the last quarter and the weather was lovely for about 10 minutes or so slim.

Was bucketing down non stop from three quarter time of the reserves match through to halftime in the seniors.

Perhaps we should just rename it the Greta Wetlands..:D As I said ours was like that too in places...

Just a quick one not sure if anyone will be able to help. first week of finals will be played at milawa and moyhu?? if so will moyhu play at milawa/sandpit?? and milawa play at moyhu??

Has anyone caught today's border mail?? Tatong have lodged a case against Bonnie doon for alledgedlly playing a illegal player. If found guilty they face a fine and lose the 4 points will be interesting to see what comes from it!

Tatong went to the media and the league accusing Bonnie Doon of playing an unregistered player. All Bonnie Doon players that played on Saturday were registered players however this is what happened. Player A was selected in the side and put on the team sheet prior to the game, with 5 minutes before the game was due to start there was no sign of player A. Fortunately we had another player there who had not been selected but had played two senior games earlier in the year and was registered, we played that player but were unable to change the name on the team sheet.
